Canadians head to polls amid warnings of bogus election e-mail
http://www.cbc.ca/story/canadavotes2006/national/2006/01/22/fake-votes060122.html

CBC News

As Canadians prepare to vote in the parliamentary election on Monday, Elections Canada is warning them not to be led astray by a fraudulent e-mail that has been circulating.

Elections Canada said the bogus e-mail bears the agency's logo and the name of Jean-Pierre Kingsley, chief electoral officer, and incorrectly states that people can vote on two days – Monday and Tuesday.

... Electoral officials said they became aware of the e-mail after someone in a B.C. riding took a copy to the local returning officer.

Elections Canada has asked that anyone with information about the source of the message contact the agency.

2. the conservatives are doing a similar thing via flyers
in a few ridings. the liberals filed an official complaint the other day. surely harper and co. can't be that desperate? electoral fraud of any kind is VERY rare here. those asshat american advisors to harper must be from florida or ohio republicans.

3. And I'm mildly peeved ...
... that nobody managed to expose "those asshat American advisors" in advance of the election. You know they're out there, I know they're out there, but the Canadian media was (as far as I can tell) completely silent about the GOP's meddling in your fine election.

4. When did Canada become Ohio?
This is horrible. Apparently, our corruption is contagious. This is exactly what they did in Ohio and in Florida and in New Mexico and in -- you get the idea. :(
