Bush Job Approval Ratings
1/22/06

Overall:

Disapprove 58%
Undecided 6%

Economy:
Approve 34%

Undecided 6%

George W. Bush's overall job approval rating returns to its record low as Americans once gain become less optimistic about the national economy.

Wasn't Georgie running around the country recently crowing about the economy? Looks like the country either didn't hear him, or tuned him out altogether.

44. Bush will always get 39%
Have you ever noticed that Bush always gets 39% in even the most stupid polls.

You can ask the question:
Would you always in all cases trust George Bush to never lie?

The answer 39% Yes

5. 58% overall disapproval rating! 60% disapproval on ECONOMY
http://americanresearchgroup.com/economy/

George W. Bush's overall job approval rating has returned to its lowest point in Bush's presidency as Americans again turn less optimistic about the national economy according to the latest survey from the American Research Group. Among all Americans, 36% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 58% disapprove. When it comes to Bush's handling of the economy, 34% approve and 60% disapprove.

Among Americans registered to vote, 37% approve of the way Bush is handling his job as president and 58% disapprove. When it comes to the way Bush is handling the economy, 35% of registered voters approve of the way Bush is handling the economy and 60% disapprove.

A total of 14% of Americans say the national economy is getting better, which is down from 30% in December and 52% say the national economy is getting worse, which is up from 40% in December. When asked about the national economy a year from now, 15% say it will be better, which is down from 28% in December, and 62% say it will be worse, which is up from 39% in December.

14. Guess more people now realize that..
they are not part of the have & haves more. Just because the economy is doing good for some companies & executives doesn't mean it is good for everyone else. Medium income has been stagnate for the past 4 years while production has increased through technology and forcing folks to work more hours in order for them to keep their jobs.

Another interesting trend is that US workers are taking less vacation time than even the Japanese, but American executives are actually getting more vacation. Wish I had * vacation plan, he has even more vacation than the French. Seems like every time he goes on a long vacation something bad occurs - 9/11 & Katrina come to mind. But then again maybe he needs all that time to rest - you know being a President is 'hard work' :)

16. bush and truth
I am listening right now to bush spewing lie after lie in a speech at Kansas State. If our media outlets allow what he is saying to go unchallenged, Americans should raise holy hell. This is just wrong, to have our president blatantly lying to us.
Example: Afghanistan is now a free democracy, the taliban has been routed, blah blah blah.......
Are we really that gullible as a nation? This scares me more than anything else, excepting the validity of our electoral system. All one can say is just "wow!".

17. I was listening to AAR on my morning commute about two weeks ago...
and on Stephanie Miller's program, they had a clip from a talking head on FAUX who was attributing his obscenely low poll numbers to the efficiency in which he has accomplished his agenda(s)!?!

The talking head went on to show that his agendas on Social Security programs, NLCB, and war on terrorism had been so successful that he is having a tough time comming up with new agendas in order to revive his polling numbers.

I forget who the talking head was, but if you could jog my memory, that'd be appriciated.

Who believes this drivel!?

19. Still too damn high
Of course, if you lived in my neighborhood (RED in a blue state), approval rating would still run 70%.

You have piss-poor waitresses, who can't afford to drive anything better than an old Honda Civic with its trunk demolished, still display "BUSH-CHENEY '04" along with some Christian themed bumper sticker and something about marriage being between a man and a woman.

People still would support W - because the Muslim terraists must be stopped, and so must the homosexuals. Never mind the Christian terrorists.

Religion is like crack. Once you're hooked on it, it can make you think irrationally.

31. His low approval rating
and the scandal of corruption hitting congressional Republicans are the things that will make me frustrated if we don't filibuster Alito. Once, it seemed that Dems were cautious because he had high approval ratings after 9-11, even though he screwed up the response, but that excuse isn't valid anymore. I hope we filibuster, because with Bush's low approval rating, it should be easy to claim that Alito and Bush are both out of the mainstream and too allied with corporate interests.

Another thing I think causes his low polling numbers, is that when average people, who have been losing ground financially hears him talk so glowingly about the "improved" economy, and giving even more tax breaks to the ultra wealthy, it causes resentment. They know what their situation is, and those of their families and friends, and it's obvious who is benefiting from the economy, and it isn't them.

After the Medicare Drug disaster, I believe he'd be an idiot to start talking about tinkering with health care. Most of us can see without too much trouble that anything he does will be to help insurance companies, and HMOs even more, and that the rest of us will be screwed, as always. The snooping doesn't help much, either, since it's coming out that it's being much more widely used than he first admitted.

Then we come to gasoline and home heating costs, and those are the final straws for some people. Pity the poor senior citizen, or Medicaid recipient, facing not only confusing and high drug costs, but the prospect of doing without both medicine and heat this winter. I can't see how any normal person could support this man for anything which gives him any degree of power over others. He's a sociopath, and is becoming worse as nobody challenges his ever-increasing lust for power.

"As the nation marks the 33rd anniversary of the landmark 1973 U.S. Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade that established abortion rights across America, a slight majority believes abortion should be always be available, or should be available without government financing, a new Zogby Interactive poll shows."
