Probe 'to confirm CIA abductions'

A European inquiry is expected to report on Tuesday that the CIA did illegally kidnap and transport detainees from Europe.

But the Swiss senator carrying out the inquiry is not expected to have any new evidence of alleged CIA-run secret prisons in Europe, reports say.

The US admits picking up terrorism suspects but denies sending them to Arab nations where they face torture.

The US has neither confirmed nor denied the existence of CIA-run prisons.
