Bush Says Iraqi Police Receiving Human Rights Training
President Bush said that as part of U.S. efforts to train Iraqi police, the recruits will receive training in human rights and ethics in an effort to prevent abusive behavior.

Speaking January 23 at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, Bush said, “We've seen some problems about what it means to have lived in a society where people want to seek revenge.”

Some Iraqi police have used their status and position “to take it out on others because of past grievances,” Bush said. “That's not acceptable to the United States of America, and it's not acceptable to most Iraqis either.”

Iraqi troops will be taught how “to handle the enemy,” and their trainers will also “make sure they understand human rights and ethics involved with police work,” Bush said.

2. I'm often amazed the ground beneath Bush doesn't split open
and swallow Bush up when engages in such odorous hypocrisy. It's just so insulting for this man to even say the words "human rights", much less pretend to give a damn about human rights.

3. Amnesty International; "Tell the Truth about Torture, Mr. President"

"Tell the Truth about Torture,
Mr. President"
Numerous allegations of torture committed by agents of the United States government have been reported since President Bush declared the "war on terror" in 2001. It's time for the torture to end. Ask the President to tell the truth about our country’s acts of torture at home and abroad when he gives his address this month.

See its ok to committ massive crimes against humanity if you also have ethics briefings.

Its important that the death squads know exactly which human rights they are violating.

7. I wonder...
I wonder if he is going to use the CIA operatives who have been torturing prisoners teach them all that ethical compassion.

I think I want to go to the cornfield now. If this is reality, I need an alternative.
