Indian economy seen as No. 3 this year
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=760e13d4abdbc50e
A former chief economist for a top accounting firm Tuesday said India's economy will this year equal or surpass Japan's as the world's third largest.

Dr. William T. Wilson, who now works as chief economist for Keystone India and once was Ernst & Young's top economist, said the Indian economy will eclipse the $4 trillion mark in 2006, making it equal to or greater than Japan's.

Only the United States and China have larger economies.

The results of liberalizing strategic sectors such as telecom, banking, aviation and real estate are now beginning to show, said Wilson.

2. Some interesting facts about India:
India has a population of 1,080,264,388. Over 1 billion people. It's only about 1/3 the size of the U.S. = a very packed country.

India's diverse economy encompasses traditional village farming, modern agriculture, handicrafts, a wide range of modern industries, and a multitude of services. Services are the major source of economic growth, accounting for half of India's output with less than one quarter of its labor force. India probably achieved greater than 7 percent GDP growth in 2005, significantly expanding manufacturing.

For anyone who is thinking about exporting, India is considered to be an economic giant. It's one of the BEM's (Big Emerging Economies). It's virtually untapped, with huge opportunities.

We know all about exporting things to India. Call centers, Software, Communications, etc. So far they don't seem to be spending roopies on anything we have to offer, BTW, what do we have to offer anymore other than bombs, missiles and pornography?

8. US is the 2nd biggest exporter to India
6% of their imports come from the US - only just behind China at 6.1%. It's just that 17% of India's exports go to the US.

7. India's economy is soaring...
... thanks to traitorous republinazis exporting American jobs.

Meanwhile, the American economy is in the midst of the 2nd Great Depression.

9. Let's look at ourselves in the mirror too.
How many kids are graduating with hi-tech degrees to match this highly technical economy? Now how many Indian kids are doing so? Sometimes the American labor force is its own worst enemy, insisting that jobs be the ones they would like, rather than the ones consumers of their products are willing to pay for.

You'd think more people would be happy that emerging economies are doing well and climbing out of ubiquitous poverty (not that poverty is not still extremely widespread in India., Give them time. They have been a functioning modern economy for only a few decades). A rapidly burgeoning democratic power in that part of the world is hardly a bad thing is it?
