Prince Harry could be sent to Iraq
LONDON (AFP) - Prince Harry, completing his army officer training, has chosen to join a regiment which could be deployed in Iraq.

Harry, 21, third in line to the throne, has opted to join the Blues and Royals regiment of the Household Cavalry, his father Prince Charles's Clarence House residence said Wednesday.

The Household Cavalry are expected to be deployed to Iraq in the future.

The prince could see front-line action if officials allow him to take part.

22. Pickles said Jenna's teaching at a charter school in DC...
it was in the article that floated around about what Pickles has on her iPod. Somebody asked her in Africa why she was only traveling with Barbara. But that's the only confirmation I've ever seen.

4. I give him credit for one thing
I hope the Bush twins pay attention. In Britain, military service is much more respected by the upper classes, and indeed is seen as a form of civic duty. When the country goes to war, then members of the aristocracy are expected to participate in the shared sacrifice. This country used to be that way, but it isn't anymore.

Good luck, Sir Harry. We'll be wishing you a safe return.

11. Bush Twins? The cowardice gene in that family...
dominates.

The Kennedy's (Joe and Jack in WWII) were the last American family to share what the Brits do. And that was 60 fucking years ago. No wonder this country's so fucked up.

It certainly would be interesting if this caused Prince Charles to speak out against the war.

9. Royal Service
His uncle Prince Andrew flew helicopters in the Falklands war so the modern royals have a bit of history of service. It's interesting that Chas spouts off now ad again giving us the benefit of his homespun philosophy that appears pacifist in nautre whilst remaining colonel in chief of several army, navy and airforce regiments.

13. Prince William is also at Sandhurst now.
Military duty is a requirement for senior British male royals.

Even Queen Elizabeth II served in the military in WWII. She trained as a truck mechanic. Prince Charles served in the armed forces. Prince Andrew, The Duke of York, served in British NAvy and saw active duty in the Falklands war. I believe that Prince Edward left the Royal Marines after a time. It wasn't his cup of tea. Prince Phillip, The Duke of Edinburgh, served in the British NAvy in WWII and one of the Queen's cousins (Duke of Gloucester) was killed in an air accident in WWII. Princess Anne, The Princess Royal serves as a honorary commander of several military regiments.

Too bad the Bush twins don't have the same feeling of duty to their country.

17. Serving donuts at a USO
I can't believe that the children of the war party can't be bothered to do even that.

The Bush twins should be expected to answer that question if they're going to publicly campaign for their father.

What possible impediment can there be? How can you not want to do it?

The war in Iraq is essential to US security only when you have questions regarding it.

Harry, 21, is due to complete his Army officer training in April.

The Household Cavalry recently had squadrons on operational duty with the UN and Nato in Bosnia and Kosovo, and is expected to return to Iraq.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed Harry could be sent there.

A spokesman for the MoD said: "It's fair to say that if his squadron goes to Iraq, he will probably go with it."

but if he goes, and if by some terrible misfortune he is hurt or killed...

That will be the end of Britain's involvement in the war.

The IRA killing the Queens cousin, Lord Mountbatten, didn't make a jot of difference to Northern Ireland, or anything else.
