Bush says bin Laden means to hurt Americans
Reuters

Jan 25, 2006 — FORT MEADE, Maryland (Reuters) - President George W. Bush said on Wednesday he takes the threats from al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden seriously.

"I understand there are some in America who say 'well this can't be true, there aren't still people willing to attack.' All I would ask them to do is listen to the words of Osama bin Laden and take him seriously," Bush said at the National Security Agency.

"When he says he's going to hurt the American people again or try to, he means it. I take it seriously and the people of NSA take it seriously and most of the American people take it seriously as well," he added.

...

The terrorists will do everything they can to strike us. I am going to continue to do everything I can within my legal authority to stop them," Bush said.

"So I don't know where he is. You know, I just don't spend that much time on him"

And, again, I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him.

93. The people
who want to attack America are located in the White House and in the Pentagon and in Virginia...Bin Laden has already been more honest and forthcoming than Bush and his lying minions. If Bin Laden were an actual threat, as in people believed him to be a threat, then noone would have rushed out to buy a copy of Rogue State by Blum.

100. Don't know much about Osama, but I do know that we spent trillions
on the best intelligence and military in the world, and it wasn't worth a nickle on Sept. 11th. (Something about the radar being pointed the wrong way.)

Every since then, the only thing we've heard out of the man installed in Washington is "Give me more money. Give me more power. Give me more secrecy."

Why not? It's worked out so well.

Yeah, but I suspect they're freeper trolls.....

"I am going to continue to do everything I can within my legal authority to stop them," Bush said.
Except spend money on security at ports, rail and bus stations, chemical plants and nuclear reactors. He's also going to keep kissing Saudi Arabia's ass and pretending they have nothing at all to do with terrorism..

28. Someone needs to challenge Bush - 'hand over BIN LADEN'
Once he is 'captured' then people will be a little less frightened and less dependent on Bush.

Don't people question the incompetence of the Pentagon not finding Bin Ladin.

We need someone like a John Cleese character on an Tv ad played over and over again - "c'mon then hand him over, we know you are hiding him". Reply Bush saying wanting dead or alive and then the next time I'm not concerned where he is.

If a terrorist attack occurs people will blame Bush.

66. Yes and bush did SO WELL protecting us the first time.
Didn't he, RICHARD CLARK.

"he ran around like his hair was on fire, telling everyone who would listen al Qaeda was planning an imminent attack." said a buncha bush admin people about Richard Clark's behaviour prior to 911, the same Richard Clark bush IGNORED...the same Richard Clark bush called "a disgruntled former employee".

With bush "in charge", OF COURSE bin Laden is planning another major terrorist attack on the USA; his first was a spectacular success for his & bush's causes, and OBL is STILL FREE FIVE YEARS LATER.

bush ain't interested or concerned about OBL. And that's direct from bush himself.

70. Bush: Bin Laden Should Be Taken Seriously
FORT MEADE, Md. - President Bush, defending the government's secret surveillance program, said Wednesday that Americans should take Osama bin Laden seriously when he says he's going to attack again.

"When he says he's going to hurt the American people again, or try to, he means it," Bush told reporters after visiting the top-secret National Security Agency where the surveillance program is based. "I take it seriously, and the people of NSA take it seriously."

It was Bush's first comment about bin Laden since the al-Qaida leader warned in a tape aired last week that his fighters are preparing new attacks in the United States. Bin Laden offered a truce, without specifying the conditions, and the White House responded that the United States would never negotiate with the mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks.

....

Bush urged that people "listen to the words of Osama bin Laden and take him seriously."

87. HE dares
because they absolutely will not capitalize on that completely brazen gaffe. These muzzled dogs can't even whimper. Totally broken. Bush must think he can get away with anything.

A word of warning to his go-along enablers. That is the fast and sure path to power insanity. They are not helping Bush nor themselves nor anyone or anything.

Just how does HE know this to be a fact?

Why should we consider the word of a big-time liar to be meaningful or influenctial? Did he talk to OBL? Does he have information that is solid and we can all verify?

Bullshit, Mr. W.

79. "we are not too worried about him...He is the one who needs to be worried"
"There are only so many caves he (bin Laden) can hide in," said Bush in arrival remarks at Yeager Airport in Charleston, W.Va. The United States, he said, is winning the war on terrorism, even if the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 terror attacks is still at large.

"He's the one who needs to be worried. But I want to assure you the objective is not bin Laden. We'll get bin Laden.

"We want him dead or alive ... but we are not too worried about him. ... He is the one who needs to be worried," Bush said.

from a UPI article, 1/22/2002.

http://www.upi.com/inc/view.php?StoryID=22012002-034743-1472r

so now we should be worried? take him seriously? come on, now, bushie... we know you're just trying to justify your illegal wiretaps.
