Veterans Form Group To Oppose Bush's Handling of the War(PAC)
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-vets26jan26,0,6212455.story?coll=la-home-headlines&track=morenews

An organization of veterans disillusioned with President Bush's handling of the Iraq war plans to launch a political action committee today dedicated to electing antiwar veterans to Congress.

The Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America PAC hopes to raise as much as $10 million this year to support veterans seeking House and Senate seats on platforms promoting a change of strategy in Iraq, said Jon Soltz, the group's executive director.

"These are people we want to send to Washington to articulate a better understanding of the war," said Soltz, who served as an Army captain with the 1st Armored Division in Iraq. "We need credible knowledge inside Washington to change the course of this war."

So far, eight Iraq war veterans are seeking House seats as Democrats in various states, including Illinois, Pennsylvania and Maryland.

3. Veterans-Turned-Candidates Have New PAC
Veterans-Turned-Candidates Have New PAC
By NANCY ZUCKERBROD, Associated Press Writer

Wednesday, January 25, 2006
(01-25) 22:09 PST WASHINGTON, (AP) --

A new political action committee to put veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in Congress is getting under way.

"There is not one policymaker debating this war who has actually fought this war," Jon Soltz, the executive director of the PAC and an Iraq war veteran, said in an interview Wednesday.

Retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark, a former Democratic presidential candidate, is heading the advisory board of the group, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America PAC.

He said in a statement that veterans need help overcoming certain obstacles. "For the most part they come from modest backgrounds and cannot self-finance their efforts," Clark said. "They move around a lot as part of their duty, which makes it difficult to cultivate a home base, and military careers do not expose these candidates to the kind of training and judgment needed to succeed in politics the same way other candidates' careers do."

10. We Are Witnessing the building of a "Tsunami"
Bush will have to lock every individual up... impossible to do in a country that has enjoyed Freedoms for some time now.
