Qaeda's Zawahri says survives US strike in Pakistan-TV

DUBAI, Jan 30 (Reuters) - Al Qaeda's deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahri said he had survived a U.S. air strike targeting him in Pakistan earlier this month, in a video tape aired by Al Jazeera television on Monday.

The video appeared to be recorded earlier this month, as it mentioned a call for a truce issued by Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in an audio tape Al Jazeera aired in January.

9. Climate of fear, Bogeyman. War president.
They have to have a bogeyman. It does nothing but help them as long as nobody asks the uncomfortable questions:
1) how come he is still free?
2) who did we kill in those houses?

And nobody will ask. Or more precisely, the whoremedia will ignore anyone asking those questions.

59. Fear precedes perception of incompetence...
...at least that is what the Rovian Wurlitzer believes. A kind of inverted, perverted Maslovian hierarchy: As long as the masses fear, they will retreat behind the perceived security blanket of a "strong leader", allow themselves to be stripped of every civil liberty, and cover their eyes and ears to truth like a bunch of snivelling monkeys. That's what the Straussian's believe, and they clearly act on their beliefs.

'bout time for We the American public to awaken if our children are ever to live free and fair and whole.

18. Cave, hell. He's probably living in a Riyadh palace.
And this is your intermittent report from the home of Ayman al-Zawahari, Egypt, where I'm on a long-term work assignment.

Zawahari is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, which found a well-financed sanctuary in Saudi Arabia when they were driven out of neighboring countries. Some of you may remember that the MB assassinated Anwar Sadat in 1981, and Zawahari served a prison sentence in Egypt for his part in the killing.

Nowadays the Egyptian MB is making soothing noises about "inclusiveness" and "joining the political process." In the recent Egyptian Parliamentary elections, the Muslim Brotherhood went from 15 seats in Parliament to 88. (cf Adolf Hitler: "We must hold our noses and enter the Reichstag.")

Though I'm certainly not an expert, I do like to keep up with the Groups Most Likely To Kidnap Or Kill Me when I'm working overseas.

AFAIK, only one Middle Eastern leader ever found an effective way to deal with the Muslim Brotherhood: Hafiz al-Asad, dictator of Syria until his death in 2000.

Unlike Our Noble Saudi Allies, that way was not by coddling them and effectively paying them huge bribes to keep their explosives away from the Saudi royal family.

When the MB tried to assassinate him in 1980, about 500 Syrian Muslim Brothers were in a Syrian prison. Asad had every single one of them shot.

Two years later the MB seized the ancient town of Hama and started cutting the throats of government officials and their families. (That is, literally cutting their throats.) On Asad's order, the Syrian Army shelled the city with heavy artillery for 2 days, killing 20,000 people.

Apparently recognizing that they had finally met their match, the MB left Syria and ran for more congenial locales...like Saudi Arabia.

61. You do realize...
...that that is precisely the modus operandi of the Bush Regime:

onager: "Two years later the MB seized the ancient town of Hama and started cutting the throats of government officials and their families. (That is, literally cutting their throats.) On Asad's order, the Syrian Army shelled the city with heavy artillery for 2 days, killing 20,000 people."
Horrible. By your own words all it did was shift the problem to Saudi Arabia. And how many citizens of Syria did Hafiz al-Asad have to torture and kill to keep them out? Is that what you want the U.S. to become? Whacking innocent people left and right who happen to be standing too close to people they don't control?

It is imperative that we find another way.

al Qaeda depth chart rules:

If a team member is hurt and unable to preform his duties then he is demoted on the team.
Example:

If al Quid Bin Ali who is # 7 gets wounded he becomes # 8 and Anas Al-Liby becomes # 7 except if the
wound is bad enough to keep him in the cave for >6 months then he becomes # 9 and Abdullah Mohammed
moves up on the depth chart too.

The league office in Saudi Arabia sets the rules. The league office is looking into using instant
replay for their spring Jihad.

Remember the level of injury determines where anybody plays and their rank on the chart.*

Except for bin Laden who will always be #1 (even after he died in Dec. of 01.)

36. Al-Zawahri Calls Bush a 'Butcher' in Video - AP
CAIRO, Egypt - Al-Qaida No. 2

Ayman al-Zawahri said in a videotape aired Monday that President Bush was a "butcher" and a "failure" because of a deadly U.S. airstrike in Pakistan targeting the bin Laden deputy. "Butcher of Washington, you are not only defeated and a liar, but also a failure. You are a curse on your own nation," he said, referring to Bush. "Bush, do you know where I am? I am among the Muslim masses."

"My second message is to the American people, who are drowning in illusions. I tell you that Bush and his gang are shedding your blood and wasting your money in frustrated adventures," he said, speaking in a forceful and angry voice.

Zawahiri says he escaped US raid

Monday 30 January 2006, 22:10 Makka Time, 19:10 GMT

Aljazeera has aired a new video in which al-Qaida's deputy leader Ayman al-Zawahiri calls George Bush a butcher and threatens a new attack in the US.

<snip>

Al-Zawahiri, shown wearing white robes and a white turban, said the US had ignored an offer from al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden for a truce.

"Butcher of Washington, you are not only defeated and a liar, but also a failure. You are a curse on your own nation," he said, referring to Bush. "Bush, do you know where I am? I am among the Muslim masses," he said.

"My second message is to the American people, who are drowning in illusions. I tell you that Bush and his gang are shedding your blood and wasting your money in frustrated adventures," he said, speaking in a forceful and angry voice.

Al-Zawahiri added: "The lion of Islam, Shaikh Osama bin Laden, may God protect him, offered you a decent exit from your dilemma. But your leaders, who are keen to accumulate wealth, insist on throwing you in battles and killing your souls in Iraq and Afghanistan and - God willing - on your own land."
