(GOP) Candidate signs 'God' on registration form
http://www.azcentral.com/offbeat//articles/0130GodSignature30-ON.html

READING, Pa. - One registered Republican won't be able to vote in the next election unless he appears at a Berks County Elections Board to explain the signature on his registration form. The man is registered as Paul S. Sewell, but his form is signed "God."

County Solicitor Alan S. Miller said Sewell claims his "God" signature is merely a legal mark like the "X" used by people who are illiterate.

Sewell, 40, said he will be happy to explain. As the owner of a bail enforcement agency, he finds fugitives, he said.

"Whenever I go to arrest somebody, they say, 'Oh, God, give me another chance. Oh, God, let me go. I'll turn myself in tomorrow,' " Sewell said.

1. As much as I think he's a dumbass, he is allowed to have whatever
signature he wants. He could sign everything George W Bush if he wanted to. There's nothing that says your signature has to be your name.

3. I hadn't thought of that. But he's still showing contempt for the process
It's an obnoxious thing to say and do. I think the signature is beyond bad taste... and thus, sadly, covered by the First Amendment.

when I catch your candyass on the streets.

I take this one because of his callous attitude towards those he is arresting. I grew up in a family of cops I know good ones and I know ones like him-punkasses with badges who think they are empowered to unleash the wrath of a so called god.

We all know not everyone who has committed a crime did so because of evil intentions but because of desperation (I'm talking small time thievery scams like bouncing a check, ect) and those people in my opinion deserve a little dignity and not lip from some half witted bitch like this punk-I'll wait for the day he goes bankrupt and has some decs comin to his place to put him into a holding cell.

7. Hmm, wasn't there some sort of "Republican rule" about
"Taking the Lord's name in vain?"

That sounds rather vain to me . . . calling yourself "God" (not "a god", with a small g)

Silly me, that's the Ten Commandments (several of which the Repukes regard as "suggestions" . . .)

19. It all sounds very tongue-in-cheek to me.
I think he's found a clever way to advertise his services. I can hear it now, "You can't hide from God."
