Mexican Police Arrest Four Illegal Iraqis
Yeah Rove. The Repukes have sure kept this country secure.

January 30,2006 | MEXICO CITY -- Mexican federal agents have arrested four Iraqis trying to sneak into the United States without proper documents, the government said Monday.

Wasim Francis Schamoun and Ivan Yalda, both 23, and Refon Chlil Oraha and Thaer Salem Yelda, both 27, were found on a bus in the northern city of Navajoa after police received an anonymous tip, the attorney general's office said in a statement.

The Iraqis were in Mexico illegally, the statement said.

5. They may well be
My point on posting this was not so much that I believed these four to be terrorists but instead to point out that for all the postering from * saying how safe we are our borders are still not very well secured.

6. NOTE - This is how terrorists of any stripe can enter our country
and we have open and unguarded borders. If MEXICO caught 4, than I imagine countless more have been successful.

I pity Iraqis right now, and welcome them in the US, but I along with everyone else must insist on legal immigration only. Further, we're about to spend another fortune in Iraq and we're spending next to nothing on our border.

When the next terrorist attack happens in the US and we learn that they entered through Mexico and that, in fact, we had known this for a while, each of us will wish we had noticed these warning signs and taken measures to secure ourselves.

13. Who gets the money this time?
Looks like we're going to add to the deficit so Bush's cronies can protect us.

Will contracts go his old friends, or the new ones he made after the Alito vote?

The more I learn, the more cynical I get.

16. Think about the impact of terrorists sneaking across the border
Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 11:49 AM by IanDB1
If terrorists were sneaking across the Mexican border, we'd have to secure it to "fight the war on terra."

After all, Bush is all about defending us against terrorism.

Securing the border tightly enough to stop terrorists from sneaking across would effectively put an end to the flow of illegal immigrant labor.

Our economy-- from Wal-Mart to the big agricultural factory-farms-- have become dependent on the labor of illegal immigrants.

This is why Bush hasn't secured the borders in the first place. They need illegal immigrant labor.

Terrorists sneaking across the border will force us to secure that border, ending the supply of illegal immigrant labor, and having a huge impact across the American economy that we will all feel at the supermarket.

The terrorists wouldn't even need to blow anything up. All they would need to do is get caught sneaking across the border!

Or, for dramatic effect, they could set-up a "Terrorist Camp" somewhere in Texas near the Mexican border. That way the Americans would see terrorists were able to sneak a dozen tents, three jeeps, a couple trucks, and a few tons of weapons and ammo across the unsecured border. To be really artful, they could build a few plywood tanks, like the ones that fooled our aircraft during The Balkans War.

On edit:
I didn't mean to imply that the Iraqis caught in Mexico were necessarily terrorists, or that any Iraqi caught illegally sneaking across the border must necessarily be a terrorist.
