52 percent say Bush's presidency a failure

52 percent say Bush's presidency a failure
WASHINGTON, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- More than half of the people asked in a recent poll said the term of U.S. President George W. Bush has been a failure.

During his State of the Union address, Bush needs to be convincing about his plans for Iraq, the economy, healthcare, immigration and corruption while staying the course on terrorism, The Gallup Organization said of its phone survey of 1,006 U.S. adults.

The 52 percent who consider Bush's presidency a failure contrasts to the more than 80 percent approval rating former President Bill Clinton received in January 1999 despite already being impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives.

1. 48% of our populace are morons
Religously insane zealots; klan members; and millionaires who do not care one whit about all us poor folk. That many people believing bush is not a failure is a total disgrace. And in their hearts, they know I'm right.

3. You should have heard John King on CNN just now!
He went over all the poll numbers and NONE are good for Shrub! John said these poor poll results are the reason Pub strategists are very nervous now. Less that 34% of Seniors plan to vote for a Pub in Nov!!!!

I have to admit, it was happy news to my ears on a depressing day!

Gallup on now saying much the same thing.

5. There are 2 seniors at my house & 2 neighbors who won't vote for Pubs
Of all the scandals within the republican party, the die-hards still voted in their party line.
That should tell most people something: It'pure and simple;

Republicans are: AGAINST CIVIL RIGHTS. AND PREFER A FASCIST REGIME OVER DEMOCRACY.

Oh yes, and go to hell, you four democrats who voted to confirm this 1960's model-Alito(Scalito)

13. I've been dealing with some who are really deluded and insist bush is
honest and the media is just against him.

They're not really facists. They're idiots.

14. I rest my case
These people really need help. Yea, the media's against him all right; they use every trick of the trade to keep the dumb goofball out of trouble, and try to make him look like a president. It must be a full time job though, because they have to work on it in between his drunken stupors.

25. Ask them why the corporate owned media
would be against him, when his part is pro big business. They are, first and foremost, big businesses.

4. So that means 48% are either brain dead or dumber than owl droppings
It seems everyone in the so-called news media today seem very upbeat about the lifetime appointment of Alito. Don't they realize they're endorsing the end of civil rights? I don't care how many of them are republicans until it starts to affect the rest of us ..then, that brings it too close to home, and I resent them for it. This is such a sad time of my golden years.

12. Yes, I totally agree that the corporate media is our enemy
All they're concerned about is their kickbacks rolling in, and high ratings, and to hell with the
people. They need to realize without people like us, there would be no need for those rat-bastards.

19. I'm sure the number who thinks his presidency is a success
is much less than 48 percent. Some people are undoubtedly undecided or have a mixed view.

I don't ever remember him being higher than 73%.

15. 73% seems somewhat high, considering the circumstances.
I'll do a search if I get some time to see if my article's a total lie, or if 80% was noted in some poll somewhere.

18. 58% see this term as failure. This is last week's Gallup poll
Poll: Most think Bush is failing second term

Friday, January 27
snip>
Fifty-eight percent of those polled said Bush's second term has been a failure so far, while 38 percent said they consider it a success. A smaller number -- 52 percent -- consider his entire presidency a failure to date, with 46 percent calling it successful. (Complete poll results)

16. Warning: SPOILER

'Miserable failure' links to Bush

George W Bush has been Google bombed.

Web users entering the words "miserable failure" into the popular search engine are directed to the biography of the president on the White House website.

The trick is possible because Google searches more than just the contents of web pages - it also counts how often a site is linked to, and with what words.

Thus, members of an online community can affect the results of Google searches - called "Google bombing" - by linking their sites to a chosen one.

Weblogger Adam Mathes is credited with inventing the practice in 2001, when he used it to link the phrase "talentless hack" to a friend's website.

17. Bush isn't qualified to carry Bill Clinton's....
...brief case. This presidency is quadrupally hard to take after 8 years under a competent (albeit, frisky) president, who, not only knew which DOOR to go out of when on international TV, but knew exactly how the world worked, and how an economy actually works!

20. Quack quack...
I smell a lame duck. Bush says he had so much "political capitol" to spend after the 2004 vote but his big plans for Social Security "reform" fell flat despite much attention focused during last year's State of the Union address and countless appearances before his party faithful.

Then again, maybe they didn't vote for him and Diebold did their voting for them.

With half the country ready to dump this asshole, why is it too much for us to ask elected Democrats to act like they understand that?

28. Wouldn't that be wonderful?
Imagine, an actual democracy where representatives represent their constituents interests! I've heard they have such things in some parts of the world, but alas, I fear it's too much to hope for here.
