India's Left Parties demand recall of US envoy
India's Left Parties demand recall of US envoy
NEW DELHI, Tuesday (AFP) India's left parties Monday asked the government to demand the recall of US ambassador David Mulford for commenting on New Delhi's stand on Iran's nuclear programme and the country's economic policy.

Mulford drew a sharp reaction from the government and opposition parties last week for saying in an interview that India could lose out on a historic nuclear deal with the United States if did not vote against Iran at a crucial meeting of the International Atomic Energy Agency on February 2.

"The government should demand his (Mulford's) recall from India as it is unbecoming on any ambassador's part to comment on such matters," Communist Party of India (Marxist) member Sitaram Yechury was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India (PTI).

Mulford also raised the hackles of the left parties by criticising them for opposing the government's move to open India's vast retail market to foreign investment, in an interview with PTI published Sunday.

1. Okay
I am getting really upset that the "journalists" always refer to a particular party as left, leftist, etc, if it is a government we are not supposed to like. Yet when the government is a conservative government like Iran, that is never mentioned in the text or headlines. This is how I know the GOP has power over the media. I really am getting discouraged by the brain washing that goes on.

Sorry about the rant, it just gets to me some days.

2. Glad you took time to make the point. Many don't realize this, I'm sure!
It's really time people started questioning what they're reading, and hearing. There's too much at stake to take everything at face value, and they are being deliberately misled.

Edited on Tue Jan-31-06 03:13 PM by dusmcj
just remembering the PM's statement at the time of the test, something to the effect "it is good when you feel strong, not like when you are weak". Penis (lingam) size rules as usual.

Lucky for them, it's amateur hour in DC too so they're playing with their own kind.

Mommy, he threw sand.

No, he did.

How did Romper Room get elected to national office in multiple nations simultaneously ?

I think I'll go polish my lingam.

5. I'd like to see David Mulford survive this.
I personally think his career as a "diplomat" is over. As usual, the Bush Con men always miss the subtleties. They immediately go for the jugular, and are shocked and surprised when the other party gets upset.

India is slow to anger. They have been insulted for several months by the U.S. There have been articles in Indian magazines about how unbelievably rude the Americans have been; bordering on the bizarre.

They finally had enough. I'm surprised it took them this long, and I do believe they will be recycling Mr. Mulford.
