Dover Post editor calls some entries 'offensive'

A reporter for the weekly Dover Post newspaper was fired Monday for offensive comments made on his personal weblog.

The blog features many sexual references, along with a complaint about Donegan's black neighbors partying late into the night Jan. 15 because they didn't have to get up for work the following day: Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Donegan, who worked for the Dover Post for 2 1/2 years, said he simply was complaining about his neighbors depriving him of sleep on a night when he had been sick.

"I'm not a racist. I think everyone will be able to tell you that," he said.

What's funny, is they might have fired him for his first entry where he states that he really hates his job! There are some more racist comments, but of course there "all in good fun", right sure yeah. What a loser, I think the guy should probably get a job writing for OUI or some other porn mag as that would be more his style. Though I'm guessing he will probably get a talk radio show or something.

I too was fired for writing a blog. I was critical (not profane or unreasonable) of the company I work for for making a strategic decision, and I blamed the leaders of the company. I didn't use anyone's whole name, and I didn't reference the componay, location, or business type.

Someone got there hands on it and forwarded it to HR and the rest ... is history.
