Al Qaeda still plots attacks on U.S.-intelligence chief

WASHINGTON, Feb 2 (Reuters) - Al Qaeda is still plotting and preparing for attacks on the United States, U.S. intelligence chief John Negroponte said on Tuesday.

"The organization's core elements still plot and make preparations for terrorist strikes against the homeland and other targets from bases in the Pakistan-Afghanistan border area," Negroponte, national director of intelligence, said in prepared testimony to the Senate intelligence committee.

Haven't we been told that this "organization" has no core, therefore this is why they can't (conveniently) catch them ?

Of course, bombing random houses in this same "Pakistan-Afghanistan border area" makes it look like you're doing something...

10. Al Qaeda Plots Attacks, And Meanwhile Team Shrub Deploys

I don't doubt that al Qaeda is hoping and plotting to attack US targets, US citizens, and even mount attacks within the US itself. And I also don't doubt for a minute that Team Shrub has put the threat of such attacks so far down the list of its priorities that the agents who could have help detect these plots are going to find themselves assisting politically-inspired pornography investigations and politically-inspired surveillance of environmentalist and animal-rights demonstrations.

When the bombs go off and the dead and wounded are carried away, shall we ask Dear Leader and members of Team Shrub's fan club if such priorities were worth it? :sarcasm:
