U.N. staff flee Afghan cartoon riots
The United Nations evacuated staff and NATO peacekeepers rushed reinforcements to a northwest Afghan town after deadly fighting erupted during a protest against cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, officials said.

At least one person was killed and dozens injured in the latest Afghan violence, which came as angry protests spread across Asia and as Denmark urged its citizens to leave Indonesia, The Associated Press reported.

The cartoons first appeared in a Danish newspaper and have been reprinted in several other papers in Europe, Asia, the United States and the Middle East. Islam forbids depictions of Mohammed.

2. Did you see that quick vote? Is the media REALLY that dumb?
What is more important?
Respect for religious beliefs or
Freedom of expression ?

The answer would be BOTH!!!They are two facets of exactly the same thing.

9. they can be mutually exclusive
censoring something in press for "religious sensitivity" reason does go against the idea of free press...

4. Less gun control?
Its possible protests like the ones in Europe would get deadly pretty fast in an American city. Waving an I-love-al-Quada placard is downright suicidal. Think a jury would convict?

6. Because nobody has bombed us back into the stone age
and nobody has meddled in our country's affairs, and nobody has propped up corrupt, oppressive governments, and nobody has taken our country's riches and not given us anything for them.

This is just a guess, of course. :eyes:

10. The beginning of the end for Afghan campaign
The empire's in freefall now. We've lost Latin America and we're losing the Middle East colonies. We're also losing both fronts of the war. Once Iran opens the IOB in March, it will be all over but the crying.
