Cheney: Little doubt Iran seeks nuclear arms

LONDON, February 8 (IranMania) - US Vice President Dick Cheney said that Iran's rejection of a Russian compromise to defuse the "dangerous" nuclear dispute all but proved that the Islamic Republic wants atomic weapons, AFP reported.

In an interview with PBS television, Cheney pointed to Tehran's refusal to sign on to Moscow's proposal to carry out uranium enrichment on Russian territory in a bid to ease global worries that Iran seeks nuclear arms.

"They've rejected that," said Cheney. "That leads everybody to believe that they obviously want to have their own enrichment capacity to be able to go all the way to the levels required for a nuclear weapon."

"There doesn't seem to be any doubt of what their intentions are," said the vice president, who described the standoff as "dangerous" and said it had worsened with the election of hardline Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

34. Scott Ritter says bush/cheney will use nukes this time.
If Iran acts against Israel. Not sure if we will nuke Iran if it is an aggressive attack or self defense against Israel. I don't think it would make much difference to the chimp and The Evil Mr Brain.

Cheney goes and starts another war on made up stories. That's right go hide your head and cower American citizens. The big brave bushites will take away all your rights but you will be safe.

Fresh Air from WHYY, February 8, 2006 · Iran's attempts to restart its nuclear program in defiance of the International Atomic Energy Agency is a game of nuclear chicken, says Joseph Cirincione, the director for non-proliferation at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Cirincione specializes in defense and proliferation issues at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. He is the senior associate and director of the Non-Proliferation Project.

...Joe gives the most calm and rational discussion about Iran being 10 years or more away from nuclear weapons. None of this bugga bugga horseshit from the TV and the neofreaks.

otherwise, the only nuke Iran has is the option to price their oil in Euros. And the damage would be to the US economy...
Chaney, go do something rude to yourself.

In 10 years?? His "plastic potato" won't pump anymore slime upstairs by that time! Better hurry up before it's too late (the petrodollar is at risk of flunking without any threat$ of killing millions poor innocents... And how many by barbaric TORTURE again?)

30. No, just most of you ... he doesn't care about a minority opinion.
51% will do him just fine thank you. Seeing as how he's already
got that from the uneducated, apathetic masses, there is no need
to prove it "further" to the people with an IQ of over 50.
We simply don't matter to his project any more than the Iraqi or
Iranian civilians.

Remember: The Republicans have received the mandate of the people
in the last three elections - this means that the American public
fully support all of their actions for the good of the nation.

(Please excuse me while I laugh hysterically at the stupidity of
their success - it stops me from crying at the folly of the coming
year.)

14. The old "no doubt" quote again , eh, Crashcart? You'd think that
for as long as his lying, evil, war-mongering cabal has been planning this invasion, they'd AT LEAST have had time to fabricate and prepare a few more original sound bytes. Nobody's buying what you're selling this time around, Dumbass.

16. Well if it's so clearly ominous, why don't WE have Russia
do our enrichment? Ya' know, set a good example, dismantle our own system.

And how would Afghanistan and/or Turkmanistan, Uzbekistan et. al feel about having enriched uranium shipped across their countries to get to Iran? Heck, how do WE feel about enriched uranium traversing those territories?

that he is a propaganda spewing idiot. all they've done is replace 'wmd' with 'nuke' and 'iraq' with 'iran'. a responsible media would make that clear, but sadly there are few responsible media outlets remaining these days.

21. I can't imagine why Iran would want to develop nuclear weapons.
:sarcasm:

What else will deter the U.S. from attacking? America is forcing the rest of the world to arm themselves. In years past I would have guessed that this was a means to justify the expansion our military and the enrichment of those associated with it. Now, after the failure in Afghanistan and the meaningless war in Iraq, I wonder what exactly is our intent? WTF does bush believe he can gain from attacking Iran? It's insanity.

He can stand up at the podium and give a detailed description of the satellite photos that prove Iran has a nuclear arms program. The UN trusts Powell, and who can doubt satellite photos?

26. He is so accurate with these statements...
"It is well documented that Saddam Hussein and the Iraqi military have stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction that can be unleashed within 30 minutes." with that as his bona fides, I think we can wad this up and flush it down the credibility crapper.

27. Just tell us how big of a check we should write Haliburton already.
Let's skip the sideshow, negotiate a price and perhaps we won't have to kill young soldiers endlessly this time?

We can then create a national holiday called, "Dick Cheney has the biggest penis ever in the history of time day." Would that satisfy you ya bastard?
