Rebellion Erupts in Yemen
Yemeni troops and Shi'ite rebels have renewed battles in the northern province of Saada. The rebels were believed to have received help from Iran.

On Feb. 6, at least 20 people were killed and scores injured in clashes between government troops and the movement led by the late Shiite leader Hussein Badr Eddin Al Houthi.

11. Repubs said war in Iraq would spread freedom, not terror
Repubs were wrong ... AGAIN.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. count of major world terrorist attacks more than tripled in 2004, a rise that may revive debate on whether the Bush administration is winning the war on terrorism, congressional aides said on Tuesday.

The number of "significant" international terrorist attacks rose to about 650 last year from about 175 in 2003, according to congressional aides briefed on the numbers by State Department and intelligence officials on Monday.

Yemeni soldiers, Shi'ite rebels killed in clash

SANAA, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Up to 20 people have been killed in clashes between Yemeni soldiers and Shi'ite Muslim supporters of anti-U.S. cleric Hussein al-Houth, tribal sources said on Monday.

They said 10 others were wounded in the clashes in the northern province of Saada. One said those killed included five soldiers. Officials were not immediately available for comment.

Yemen says rebels loyal to Houthi, who was killed in 2004, want to install clerical rule and preach violence against the United States and Israel. The group is not linked to al Qaeda.

7. I didn't read that part of it
But, I have no doubt Iran is aiding Shia in Yemen, just like they are aiding Shia in Iraq and other countries in the Arab world.

5. Wonder if this is related to those 20+ escapees from last week?
Don't know enough about the politics of Yemen to guess. Seems unlikely at first, since Al Queda are generally Sunni, and the rebellion is said to be Shi'ites, but who knows.

12. Well the movement shouldn't be too hard to put down
since it's being "led by the late Shi-ite leader Hussein Badr Eddin Houthi."

You wouldn't think a dead guy would be able to put up too much of a struggle.
