Capitol Evacuation Under Investigation

WASHINGTON -- Capitol Police are looking at their early warning system as part of the investigation into a nerve gas scare that forced the evacuation of a Senate office building.

Sgt. Kimberly Schneider, a Capitol Police spokeswoman, said Thursday authorities had not yet determined if the system malfunctioned Wednesday evening. "We're investigating that as part of the whole investigation," she said.

A false alarm from an air-monitoring sensor indicating a nerve agent in the Russell Senate Office Building prompted officials to quarantine about 200 people, including at least eight senators, in a parking garage. The all-clear came three hours later after subsequent tests proved negativ

Also, a DUer speculated earlier today that the evacuees were forced to leave their offices before they could shut down their computers and maybe the false alarm was just another way of getting into their computers and pilfering the Democrats' offices!

was a genius. They killed so many birds with one stone that time. The plan to do 9-11 and then back it up with the Anthrax attack had to take years of planning. That's why Bush was willing to do anything to steal the election. BushCo had to get their team in place to pull off these attacks.

? gee, you'd think they'd be a wee bit more on the ball than that. and ya gotta like the 'IF' in that sentence. i'd also be real interested on what little data mining might have gone on in those offices while those folks were 'quarantined' in the basement. (which is a pretty stupid place to put people in a GAS attack, seeing as many gasses are heavier than air, but i digress) seems to me i recall another terror scare in the capital complex a year or so ago that just happened to involve certain democrats' offices.
