Florida Airports Step Up Security After Threat
Feb 10, 2006

(CBS4 News) MIAMI CBS4 News has learned that all airports across the state of Florida have been put on heightened alert after truckers using CB radio heard another trucker threaten to take a load of explosives to an airport and detonate it. Police statewide are on alert for a suspicious truck.

Sources tell CBS4 that the truck police are searching for is a blue and white 18 wheeler, with Illinois license tag P466469. The driver is described as about 6’2”, and approximately 300 pounds

Miami-Dade Police have posted a checkpoint at the entrance of Miami International Airport and will stop for inspection every tractor trailer attempting to enter airport property. Checkpoints are also being posted at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and at Port Everglades.

Miami-Dade Police Major Ruben Galindo says the report specifically mentioned a South Florida airport.

They need to come up with another trick,(not a engineered, planned and executed "terrattacks")but change up fellas. Everytime the Grand Idiot gets in trouble, mysterious terra seeking folks decide to come out of the woodwork.

4. Recently I got mad at Dell tech help overseas and hoped
Pakistan would nuke India for all the aggravation they caused me trying to solve a problem with my computer. I was told all phone and online talk IS DEFINITELY RECORDED. So could this irate trucker just be blowing off steam? Many people in their lives get so mad they sound off and say,"I like to blow your ass up" or something to that effect. In todays America one can no longer blow off steam without a National alarm of State roadblocks. Maybe its just me..who knows...

7. Son of a bitch. They did this shit the last time I flew out of this state
and wouldn't let me take my knitting in my carry on. This time, I'm using bamboo circular needles, so maybe they'll relent, even though they'd make a dandy garrotte.

Stupid security fakery just to scare the rubes and it's so damned inconvenient for the rest of us, just to keep them in line in Kansas.

15. Don't bother
I'd put my money on another false alarm.

Sorry about the first one. They dumped that thread down into the FL Forum. What happened? They called the SWAT Team for a false alarm? Oops.

13. "and I'll huff and I'll puff and I'll blow up a South Florida airport."
If only the mysterious boogie man trucker had mentioned some pornography, then the NSA would have monitored that and nabbed him by now.

16. False Alarm - found this report in GD
Feb 10, 2006

A truck driver in Palm Beach County told police she overheard CB radio conversation about a plot to 'blow up an airport,' resulting in heightened security at South Florida airports.

<snip>

Investigators were first alerted to the threat Friday when the truck driver called 911 from the road and said she had overheard a conversation ''between alleged Middle Easterners on a CB,'' Orihuela said. The driver was in Palm Beach County, and the conversation the driver reported overhearing was about ''bringing explosives and blowing up an airport,'' Orihuela said.

But when investigators questioned a specific driver mentioned by the tipster, it didn't pan out as a lead, Jenne said. Also, the driver was at home and the truck that had been described in the tip was in a different place, Jenne said.

Until they learn more, they'll keep some extra people on the lookout for unusual activity at both Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades, said Jenne spokesman Elliot Cohen.

So is this lady going to be charged for lying about a possible terrorist attack? Or will Jeb give her some honor instead?

out on a $1500 bond, he bought an airline ticket and committed suicide in the restroom on the aircraft?

19. Yes, but you know that's not national news
Now if the guy was Arab or Muslim, that story would have been covered 24/7 by the networks.
