and out of politics. CLUE PHONE: Laura, if you want to stay out of the limelight, SHUT THE FUCK UP about politics!

I know that's harsh, honey, but that's the condition you're going to have to meet.

Where was HER empathy when Clinton was facing impeachment for lying about an affair????

If anyone knows best what it is exactly like to live in the white house - it IS Hillary....and she has just as much a right to critisize Bush performance as any other american.

see - that is the problem - they think that George is above critisism. And WE know better.

Might the Bushes be pulling what so many dictators have? Run the little woman to keep the family in office and then the Idiot will be pulling her strings? I think they think they could put this over on those who think Pickles is so sweet and wonderful.

Just very strange that she is now giving opinions on every damn thing and is being thrown at us constantly, whereas you used to rarely see her anywhere.

I thought we were talking about LAURA - not Hillary.

IMHO - Hillary was probably running the country as much as Bill was - so maybe HE's the Lurleen.

Hillary would be no Lurleen - she'd be in charge in her own right.

73. Um...I thought the topic was BOTH Pickles and Hillary...
and I thought that I made it very clear that Hillary WOULD NOT be a Lurleen. However, one would have to be VERY naive to think that the Lurleen factor would not appeal to a part of the electorate who would vote for HRC. I repeat: she is quite capable of being her own moderate DLC republite woman with no help from her spouse. But quite a bit of assistance from corporate interests.

15. Unelected Laura is even more out of bounds to criticize Senator Hillary
Hillary won her Senate seat by a landslide so she has every right and the duty to speak out. I have always found it interesting that Repubs kept Laura muzzled during the 2000 campaign so they could win points contrasting her with outspoken Hillary, only to realize that Hillary was popular enough to be elected to the Senate so it was then okay to let Laura speak out more.

"Bush pointed out that former Presidents Bush and Clinton and her husband are part of a unique club that also includes the wives."

That's hilarious. I don't Jimmy and Rosalynn want to be in their club. I don't think Jerry and Betty, or even Nancy want in that club.

Actually I think the unique club is the 2Georges, Douchebag and Pickles - unique for the blithering ignorance and hubris of its members. They are trying to pull Bill in to legitimize themselves with independents (who loved Clinton)-- but Hillary has been excommunicated from "the club" it seems.

structure doesn't mean other women have to emulate her.

This is a classic case of someone trying to rouse the rabble by pointing fingers at "the smart girl in class."

I don't believe Mrs. Bush holds an elective office. Senator Clinton does. Her constituents have every right to expect that she will speak her mind.

41. Dear Mrs. Laura Bush
Edited on Sat Feb-11-06 06:01 PM by Malva Zebrina
You worked for four years of your entire life and claim you had a "career". You have done nothing but live off the Bush money and raise two daughters who seem to have inherited the notion that they do not have to work much either.

You manufactured an event in Afganistan that was totally a potempkin event. Dear first war lady, have you visited or even read about what is going on in Afganistan.

Your husband is a killer. He is obssessed with killing people and calls it "war". That he lied to kill people and rejoiced in the amount of killing he has achieved in his stupidity, just as he did when he and you were in the Governer's mansion in Texas.

You are nothing, Mrs. Bush but a robotic despot who supports killing and war. You have not worked worth a damn in the past thirty five years. Your daughters are play girls and will also live off of the rich husband they marry,

You, MRs. Bush are a welfare Mom.

Now, you presume to put yourself up to the level of a Senator? You are a bitch of the first order. You cannot even rise to the level of your bitchy, racist mother in law--you just follow orders coming from Karl Rove and the big size ten shoe momma, Karen Hughes because if you did not, you could no longer enjoy the riches and the status that your marriage afforded you and that you jumped on at the age of thirty because at that time, you were actually somewhat "middle class" and had no chance of enjoying what the "rich" enjoyed, and now you seem to think it "cute" to criticize a Senator who apparently is within her perfect role to criticize your insane, ignorant and fascist husband.

You ought to just shut up and go visit some inner city school to reform the "boys", most of them black. How's that going, BTW.

No one elected you, bitch. You are out of your class and out of your venue. Just go to the Olympics with your other skanky daughter and smile and wave at the taxpayers expense.

and some of us are getting damn sick and tired of paying for your expensive vacations in Europe, where you behave like a queen.

Laura you are a nothing and you have done nothing. You simply are a presidential welfare queen, living off our money and

Your taste in clothes is atrocious and embarrassing---can you please hike up your pendulous chest so it rests somewhere mid chest instead of languishing at your waist and not wear clothes that accent your rather fat ass? You are not twenty years old any longer dear.

54. ...and on a sporting note....

....On a sporting note, she described the U.S. team as "a really wonderful Olympic team with so many cute young people -- a few older people as well."...

well... thank ya for your condescending opinion on their appearance and age!..

55. It's really sad to see...
I don't care how much we all disagree with Pickles...it's still really disheartening to see so many people here are incapable of expressing that disagreement without resorting to gender slurs.

Can't y'all do better than just yelling "BITCH!". :eyes:

57. Since when do these folks have the power to determine the bounds of ...
...the 1st amendment to the constitution? How do they get the right to tell me what my limits are with respect to whether an action shows classiness or classlessness, manners or their lack, good taste or boorishness?

They are trying to tell the King family (and as an extension, Blacks in general) how an acceptable funeral should be held -- or at least how it shouldn't. They're trying to tell Sen. Clinton what are her bounds when she utters any remarks about the president. The RNC chair, Mehlman, the president and several of the components of the GOP propaganda machine are now alluding to the 'type' of 2006 election season they expect, asserting that the American people want a less angry, less name-calling and less character questioning process in the upcoming congressional elections. Isn't that special.

That wouldn't in itself be too bad if it weren't for the fact that the GOP asserts that simply speaking the truth is to be considered, as Tucker would say, bad manners and bad form, as if this country were some English prep school in the 1910's.

If I had the chance, I'd tell him that bad form is starting a war of choice by ignoring any adviser who revealed intelligence which didn't agree with the idea of going to war, i.e., that Saddam had no WMD's, then stating that everyone believed he did have them. Good form requires truth-telling. I'd tell him that it is somewhat more than bad manners, it is downright rude to have reports sent to the White House saying that levees were subject to breeching pre-Katrina, then were breeched in post-Katrina NOLA and then, as late as two-months ago, claim that he thought there was simply flooding with no levee breech, as an attempt to excuse the atrocious response. Good manners involve taking responsibility, particularly for one's failures. But speaking of good form and good manners, has any other president been photographed giving someone the middle finger 'eff you' sign?

I'd also submit that he, Tucker, has about as much of a right to instruct Blacks in their (my!) cultural activities as does an oak tree, and probably fewer chances for success.

it seems like they really want to emphasize this 'any criticism of bush is baaaad!' thing.

much less the Republicans. I will vote in the primary for Clark if he is running, but if Hillary gets it, I'll do what I can to make sure a Democrat wins. The alternative is too dangerous to contemplate.

Laura is speaking to Hillary as if she was "just" an ex-first lady. Pickles, honey....Hillary is an elected Senator, and is speaking as such. So your whining about how she ought to "empathize" with you is out of place here.

I can disagree with HIllary on many things, but Laura isn't fit to shine her shoes. Besides, Hillary was right (except, as someone said, she should have said Bush admin is the worst ever.

Is she kidding? Dear God, Laura PLEASE GET A GRIP! Surely, you remember the incessant slander machine that went to work against the Clinton's on day #1 of Bill's Presidency, don't you? Your husband and father in law were well connected to the machine. You speak out against the one or two sentences of criticism that your husband has faced in person in the last five years, yet you never once spoke out against the 365 days per year attacks launched against the Clinton's. Laura, you have no credibility.

that she lives in the United States of America, where EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN has the right to criticize the pResident of the US, even citizens who happen to be senators.

But, I am not surprised at Ms Pickles' attitude at all. After all, she really believes that she is
Queen Chimp and that her husband is King. One must not speak ill of the King.

I have seen more than a few articles and poles probling the waters for her to run for something.

This is the repukes attempt at saying, "look, our first lady is just as tough and smart as yours, nah, nah, nah!"

God help us all.
