Four U.S. troops killed in Afghan blast-U.S. army

KABUL, Feb 13 (Reuters) - Four U.S. troops were killed in a bomb blast in a trouble-plagued region of Afghanistan on Monday, the U.S. military said.

The troops were on patrol in Uruzgan province with Afghan army forces when their vehicle was hit by suspected improvised explosive device, the U.S. military said in a statement.

7. I hope their families find peace
This is all so tragic, so needless. Bush left our troops in Afghanistan pretty much abandoned in his obsession to invade Iraq. All he has succeeded in doing is screwing up both countries, and causing more and more death and crippling wounds.

My contempt for him and his followers seems to grow each day, although it's hard to believe I can become more outraged. RIP, troops.

13. Afghanistan isn't all that bad
That country has calmed way down over the past couple years. Used to be scary landing at an airfield in that country...never knew if someone would start shooting. Now, it's VERY rare to get shot at. Still some pockets of hot areas, mostly in the remote parts of the country that are harder to patrol. But overall, Afghanistan isn't as bad as you might think. I welcome missions to Afghanistan nowadays.

8. For the past two years I have noticed a migration of the tactics used
against the US army in Iraq to Afghanistan. The Iraq fuckup has given AQ a contemporary blueprint to use against us in the real war.

11. Iraqi tactics being adopted by Afghan insurgents
What a wonderful school Iraq has turned out to be? Osama bin Laden should be kissing Bush on the cheeks for advancing radical Islamism.

Bush helpfully provided the setting for their education.
