Likely Challenger Lashes Out at Clinton (NY Senate)
ALBANY, N.Y. - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's likely Republican Senate race challenger charged Monday that the New York Democrat's criticism of the Bush administration "aids and abets our enemies" in the battle against terrorism.

John Spencer's comments to reporters came after a fiery speech to the state Conservative Party leadership in which, during a defense of the Patriot Act, he also attacked the administration of former President Bill Clinton.

"I wish we had it before 9-11," said the former mayor of Yonkers. "And, I wish we had an administration in Washington that wasn't an appeasing, liberal, whining administration in the 90's that allowed the terrorists to build up the way they built up."

... snip ...

Polls show Spencer trailing far behind Clinton in her bid for a second Senate term, and she has a huge fundraising advantage as well. She is a potential 2008 Democratic presidential candidate.

14. I agree.
This is just the first round in a three year campaign to smear Hillary. This is only the beginning.

Actually, it may not play very well in the city, but, up here in the hinterlands, these dumb mofo's are gonna eat it up.

I don't know how it is I live in the smallest county in the state, but it has a higher proportion of republican assholes than anywhere else.

7. Gotta disagree...
I know its easy to say that upstate is all fire-breathing RW'ers, but this isn't Alabama or Texas. Hillary won in part because of how well she drew votes in the traditional Republican upstate counties.

10. Exactly
The Upstate cities like Buffalo and Rochester and Syracuse and Albany are blue in themselves, and Hillary has made sure not to upset Upstate voters. Upstate is also a much lighter shade of red than people realize. In 1996 Clinton carried almost every county in NYS, except for a few near the Pennsylvania border and a few in the Adirondacks (although Perot contributed, if you look at percentage a lot of those were won outright.)

9. Do you live in Putnam County?
I saw that your profile says Patterson. I live in Westchester. My question is why is Putnam so red with Westchester to the south of it?

IRAQ HAD WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION WHEN PRESIDENT CLINTON TOOK OFFICE AND IRAQ DID NOT HAVE THEM WHEN HE LEFT OFFICE. I know how you flag waving patriots cringe at the truth.

Research shows that history hasn't been kind to candidates who are angry. Just ask (Larry Bud) Mehlman!

8. Another go no where Con.............
Mr. Spencer 9/11 would not have happened if * read the PDR and listened to Clintons staff.....bin Laden determined to attack with air craft. As far as listening in we had the ability but * didn't do much because it hard work.....and it was time to go to the pig farm. Ny'ers will not be fooled by the likes of you.
