Syria to restore diplomatic ties with Iraq after new gov't
DAMASCUS, Feb. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Syrian Vice President Farouk al-Shara said on Monday that Damascus would restore diplomatic ties with Iraq after a new Iraqi government was formed, the officials ANA news agency reported.

Shara made the remarks when meeting visiting Iraqi Shiite Muslim leader Moqtada al-Sadr.

Shara was quoted by SANA as saying that Syria would exchange diplomatic representation on the level of ambassadors with Iraq after the formation of a new Iraqi government.

Syria hoped this step would be a starting point for developing and enhancing bilateral relations with Iraq in all fields, Shara added.

2. Bush said he's a uniter.
Interesting things going on in Lebanon, too. Apparently Aoun, Hezbollah, and Hariri's kid are making up (sort of).

4. Yeppers, he has indeed united the world against us.
And most didn't think such a thing could be done, not in so short a time.

But don't misunderestimate the bush; he can engender hatred faster than any MFer on the planet. And gee, we are ever so much safer when more & more people hate us. :eyes:

3. I wonder if this is a move to counter Iran
Of course, Tehran and Damascus have close relations. Still, perhaps Assad doesn't want to Shia Theocracy right next door.......
