Europe baulks at call for 'Long War'
Europeans aren't the only ones worrying ...try Americans who can do nothing but pay the tab for this neocon bullcrap.

February 16, 2006

CONCERN is growing among European governments about US plans to involve them in an expanded campaign against Islamist extremism from north Africa to South-East Asia.

The Pentagon plan, designed to fight what it describes as "the Long War", envisages "long-duration, complex operations involving the US military and international partners, waged simultaneously in multiple countries round the world".

It would involve special forces, high-tech weaponry and more intrusive surveillance and intelligence gathering.

The post-Iraq rethink, the Quadrennial Defence Review, was published last week. It calls on existing allies such as NATO and "moderate" governments in the Muslim world "to share the risks and responsibilities of today's complex challenges".

1. Would it be reasonable
Would it be reasonable to read "long-duration, complex operations involving the US military and international partners" as multiple invasions and lenghty occupations of third world nations (with resources we want presumably), carried out in conjunction with the former colonial powers from Europe?

7. No, not lengthy occupations
They now realise those don't achieve their objectives efficiently. More like "extended destabilisation, and aerial bombing, of unfriendly regimes, extra-judicial killings of suspected opponents, and manipulation and control of puppet governments".

14. George Washington was also a 'terrorist' - but to whom?
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 11:03 AM by dubya_dubya_III
When the MI6-CIA Bush/Reagan Mafia created and engineered the Mujihadeen Afghan "Freedom Fighter" terror networks, with it's deliberate and malicious religious-fascist "Fight for your God, your God will protect you (and you can make BIG money)" policies, it did so knowing full well that the far more onerous and serious religious fascist pissing match over the theft of Jerusalem by Israel would be the clear and obvious "uppermost next logical duty" of those mostly foreign Arab fighters.

Only a moron could not clearly foresee where that doctrinaire religious socialist pandering toward violent illiberal conservative Muslim Fascist tyranny authored by our own deliberately myopic Christian Fascist MI6-CIA Mafia opportunism would lead!

Now, in spite of our over 50 years of malicious complicity and participation in the murder and robbery of hundreds of thousands of innocent Palestinian Freedom Fighters both in their homeland, Lebanon and elsewhere, and our cynical, illegal, unprincipled support for Muslim Fascism in Iran and Saudi Arabia, one lousy attack (that our Christian fascist mafia now appears to have itself been secretly and subversively complicit in) on US soil involving a mere few thousand innocent, saintly Americans has turned the legitimate conflict over the Free Independence and liberation of Jerusalem and an illusory future State of Palestine into a global "War on Terror".

This is a war that at it's very core is so corrupt, biased and one sided that it dare not speak it's name. Anglican fascist mercantile mafia cabbalists in Britain likewise could not admit they were fighting Liberty - Our American forefathers were "terrorists' in their corrupt newspeak as well!

Saddam was attacked because he dared offer support for the families of fallen Palestinian Freedom Fighters, all else was smoke and mirrors. Imperial Anglican Fascist Britain and Turkey poison gassed 100's of thousands of Kurds before Saddam ever did, and indeed Kuwait was stolen from Iraq as "Iran Insurance" when the BP Oil Cabal's MI6-CIA Mafia overthrew the first legitimate democratic government in the Muslim world in Iran in 1948 and imposed their Imperial BP Cabal's "Shaw" tyrant.

The only threat to Liberty on this planet is conservative fascist injustice! The only solution to the Israel - Palestine - Jerusalem problem is a Three State Solution.

End the war on Palestinian Freedom Fighters Terror and burn that malicious "Roadmap" to tyranny and injustice!

Only Liberty from established "Conservative" Religious or Marxist fascist tyranny will ever bring peace to this world.

2. Never ending war...keeps the people from questioning the government...
afterall, Fox news told me that questioning the government means that I hate America...

And we all know how fair and balanced they are...

9. They are acting as the new Fascists
Global hegemony.. the report says "struggle fought in dozens of countries at once"

Seriously, what does that sound like? Global hegemonial military and espionage superiority and attacks at once? Where does state sovereignty, nuetrality, and peace factor in here?

They don't.

5. Long wars
have been fought in Europe before. 30 years, 80 years, 100 years war. We won't be playing this game I think. Many of us are sick and tired of this shit and we are slowly putting a stop to it by urging resistance at all levels. I am using the upcoming Dutch elections as bellweather...if we go left, count on much of western Europe following the lead. My reasoning is that the Dutch are, as we say here "5 years behind" politically and culturally speaking. Usually following the American lead. If we swing left, it indicates a return to our social-root and capital will be the loser. Ergo, little interest for the long war scam. Europe is about non-violent negotiations now. War is still practiced by some of us (read CDA, VVD, PvdA political parties here) but mostly as an attempt to keep faith with treaty obligations. Hopefully our new international police force will serve as an example of how to appropriately defuse tensions and achieve peaceful coexistence. Peace and hope.

6. Voting here.....
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 05:03 AM by DemExpat
It seems to me that chosing which party to vote for here is increasingly difficult - re: unclear aims and policies.
I certainly do not consider PvdA (Labor party) a good alternative to the present center-right administration, do you? They are all manipulative and, as shown in the last decade of leftist government coalition that all in power become arrogant and do little to really connect with concerns and wishes of the populous. IMO.

10. why not fight the "long war" by spending that billions and
billions of dollars (or euros) used to kill people for bringing them up from hopeless poverty instead? nah, that's no way to transfer everyone elses money into you pals' pockets, is it.

13. chickenhawks haven't "done" long wars like Europe, thus think nothing of
sending young people to die, having towns and cities destroyed, and thousands or millions of homeless refugees.

These chickenhawks have got to be removed from office immediately. Rendering them relatevely harmless as a "lame duck" admin. or force within the Pentagon is being too lenient considering their crimes and PNAC war/one world government goals.
