Abu Ghraib abuse violates international law: ICRC
Abu Ghraib abuse violates international law: ICRC
Thu Feb 16, 2006 4:30 AM ET

GENEVA (Reuters) - The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Thursday said the latest images of abuse of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison showed clear violations of international humanitarian law.

An Australian television station broadcast on Wednesday what it said were previously unpublished images of abuse of Iraqi prisoners at the jail, fuelling Arab anger against the United States.

"We are shocked and dismayed at the mistreatment and abuse displayed in these images," ICRC spokeswoman Dorothea Krimitsas told Reuters in Geneva.

"The type of treatment in these images -- video or photos -- very clearly violates the rules of international humanitarian law which are designed to protect people detained in the context of armed conflict," she added.

1. This is why Rummie and Co
didn't want more pictures released. They don't give a damn about stirring up Muslim hatred, they are only concerned about keeping themselves out of trouble for their numerous crimes. It's time for them to go.

2. People just don't understand. The road to Democracy is in secretly
torturing and maiming the applicant, so said applicant can appreciate true freedom. As Rush would say, "it's nothing more than a nothing than a few fraternity pranks."

3. Question -
"The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Thursday said the latest images of abuse of Iraqi prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison showed clear violations of international humanitarian law."

"the latest images"? Did they have an opinion about the first batch of images?

4. Well, Duh. The first images did too
It's not as if this is the first time evidence of violations of international and FEDERAL law have come forth.

It's not a question of "Did America violate the law?" and it's not a question of whether or not America is a war crime nation..

America is a war crime nation and she did violate international law and her own federal laws -

the question is:

"Will justice ever be served for these crimes?"

Hopefully, the more pictures that are brought forth, the more pressure to go after the Bush Regime.
