Radioshack CEO (Bush donor): Resume contents on Web site 'incorrect'
Edited on Thu Feb-16-06 08:14 AM by President Jesus
RadioShack Corp. President and Chief Executive David Edmondson issued a statement late Wednesday saying that the contents of his "resume and the company's Web site were clearly incorrect," and that he "clearly misstated" his academic record.

1. Well well well, what have we here?
Sheesh, why do people do this- don't they know they'll always be caught? Especially with how freakin' easy this stuff is to research with the internet.

2. Interesting that...
The falsified degree is Theology. When did the admonition about bearing false witness get declared null and void?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

5. Damn fool thing to do... I know someone who is doing the same thing.
I once had a co-worker who did this very thing -- lied about having a bachelor's degree -- and underwent a security clearance investigation. Well -- get this -- the investigation did not uncover the matter, and the person did the same job as I do and got paid more. The only reason I know they didn't have a degree is because they told me so. Sometimes it makes me so angry thinking about it, and since the person is a friend (of sorts) I could not bring myself to say anything. However, to make things worst, my boss sits on the advisory board for the university department that awards that particular degree. It's a damn fool thing to do when you're working for the government, but this person STILL gets away with it. I've even advised that them it could come up later, but hey... What the hell do I know?

6. Another day, another lie, another drunk...
In addition to lying about his education and being a Bush supporter, this fine upstanding pillar of the community goes on trial for drunk driving in march. It's his third arrest.

"But the registrar at the small school, which moved to Oklahoma City in 1998 and renamed itself Heartland Baptist Bible College, said enrollment records show that Edmondson completed only two semesters of coursework. He also said that the school never offered degrees in psychology."

(snip)

"The Star-Telegram began looking into Edmondson's background after learning that he is awaiting trial on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He is scheduled to go to court in April on the charge, which carries penalties that may include a fine of as much as $2,000, jail time of three to 180 days and probation. He has two prior arrests in connection with driving while intoxicated, but no convictions."
