CAIRO, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Security Affairs Steven Rademaker ruled out military action against Iran over resuming uranium enrichment.

Speaking after a meeting in Cairo Thursday with Arab League Secretary General Amr Mousa, Rademaker said, "we discussed the Iranian nuclear issue and the need to give a chance for diplomacy because military options will not be discussed at the time being."

He stressed that Washington wants to give a chance for peaceful efforts and diplomacy to settle the conflict with Iran over its nuclear program, noting that, "only 12 days passed since the meetings of the International Atomic Energy Agency."

Iran suspended its dealings with IAEA inspectors after the Council of Governors of the U.N. nuclear watchdog decided to refer Iran to the Security Council on Feb. 4.

Nice misleading headline, huh?

...military options will not be discussed at the time being."

Not that I even believe that...

4. Sure we believe you...
because we all know that bombing an enrichment facility with a Predator drone isn't "military action" right? It can be handled by the CIA. The DOD doesn't have to be involved at all!

8. They're waiting for the UN to come up with a strong statement
condemning Iran, which we can then use as an excuse to bomb the shit out of them.

"Just upholding UN resolution XXX! We can't let the UN look toothless!"

10. For those to young to remember the days of the Great Soviet Union
It was always easy to tell what was going on in the USSR by reading their denials. Seems *Co has adopted similar tactics but isn't bothering with step 3 often.

1. There is no truth to the rumor of a planned attach on Iran.

A week later:

2. Sources in the middle east are talking of an explosion in Tehran.

A week later:

3. We attacked Iran.
