Two Army JAG Officials Among Iraq Victims
Two officials of the Army's Judge Advocate General corps from the Pentagon were among six soldiers killed in the crash of a Black Hawk helicopter in Iraq on Friday, the Defense Department announced.
Army officials said Monday they still had not determined whether the helicopter that crashed near Saddam Hussein's hometown of Tikrit was downed by a mechanical problem or by a rocket-propelled grenade.

All six soldiers aboard the helicopter were killed. They included two officials of the Army's JAG corps, which provides judges and lawyers for the Army's military courts. They were identified as Command Sgt. Maj. Cornell W. Gilmore I, 45, of Stafford, Va., and Chief Warrant Officer 5 Sharon T. Swartworth, 43, of Virginia.

2. according to the guardian story
(sorry ,no link) the tribesmen who shot down the copter were going to take out the second one but didn`t because they were over ruled by a tribal elder who felt it would bring to much 'heat". well they got some 500 pounders dropped on them anyway. i`m not sure if it`s still somewhere in the guardian but it was a great article about the tribe that occupies that land..they once were our friends till the army started killing them...

3. question about those tribesmen
Did they have bones in their noses? / sarcasm

The language being used in the "liberal press" is horrible - metropolises of a quarter million are referred to as "towns", cities of 75K are referred to as "villages", people living in a country where everyone who wished got a college education free (until we sanctioned them back to the stoneage) are referred to like they grunt and run around in loincloths.
