Iraq 'faces severe health crisis'
The people of Iraq will have poorer health for generations as a result of the war, according to a report.
Medical charity Medact says this year's conflict disrupted immunisation programmes and destroyed water systems, increasing levels of disease.

Environmental degradation and smoke from oil fires are adding to the health problems of Iraqis, it reports.

Continuing insecurity in Iraq, along with the breakdown of public health services, are adding to the problem.

Entitled Continuing Collateral Damage: the health and environmental costs of war on Iraq, the report estimates that between 22,000 and 55,000 people - mainly Iraqi soldiers and civilians - died as a direct result of the war.

Just another thing the Bush Administration(s) have done for the Iraqi people.

3. the U.S. will also have many health problems because of the war.
After the last gulf war there were clusters of handicapped children born around the bases from which men were deployed to the war. Some of the gulf war sickness vets had their wives come down sick with the gulf war sickness symptoms. Also we had many more vets die since the war. the soldiers stationed there now will be over there much longer so the percentage to come back sick and unhealthy and pass this on to their wives and children will be much larger group. I think this war will devastate our military numbers for years to come and that may be why they are now considering the draft. They know this will have a devastating effect on military manpower and the military health care budget.
