DeLay says Bush making mistake on port sale
02/23/2006

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/APStories/stories/D8FUGLP05.html

U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay said Wednesday that President Bush is making a big mistake backing a sale of shipping operations at six major U.S. seaports to a state-owned business in the United Arab Emirates.

The former Republican majority leader said the administration's approval of the deal is "pretty outrageous." DeLay made the remarks during a campaign event with Houston real estate executives.

Separately, U.S. Rep. Ted Poe, R-Humble, said he is concerned about Texas ports where military cargo is handled by London-based Peninsular and Oriental, the company to be purchased by the UAE's Dubai Ports World.

Poe said ports in Beaumont and Corpus Christi move military goods, materials and records of which he would not want UAE employees to have access.

4. Hmmmmm well now - it seems that Tom has decided that
the only way back into the big time is to Knife * right in the back and use that hand hold to climb back up to the top. You know if * was still riding high Tom wouldn't say a word.

Should be interesting - I mean if Delay is saying this is a mistake - * has lost the loony toon vote and may have to back off that veto threat. It would be humiliating and it couldn't happen to a nicer pig. Except maybe Tom Delay.

5. Didn't W siphon off enough funds from the deal to DeLay?
Nothing makes a republican as mad as losing illegal profits.

6. USS BUSHCO Sinking Fast, Everyman for Himself, Over....
It`s all over for these clowns. People like Delay don`t say things like what is reported here unless they know it is a lost cause. Get on a lifeboat while they are still available. Reminds me very much of Nixon`s downfall. ...Oscar

8. Weirdly, this is serving as an out for the RUBBERSTAMPERS
They can pretend that they are not really RUBBERSTAMPERS by opposing this politically unpopular position. But we all know that they are, in fact, RUBBERSTAMPERS, and have been for the last four fucking years. RUBBERSTAMP Republican Congress trying to change their image ahead of 06 elections. Don't let them hide from their RUBBERSTAMPING ways.

11. The problem is, they are so INCOMPETENT that now we lose
no matter what.

We keep the port deal and expose ourselves; we nix the port deal and inflame Arabs even more.

Anybody with even a couple of brain cells could see that this would be a tough sell right at this moment, and a little advance notice to a few key SENATORS AND GOVERNORS would be appropriate, so that if this had to die, it could die quietly without causing a lot of international tension.

But noooo. These pathetic excuses for administrators didn't learn anything about diplomacy, or subtlty, or other cultures, or even other opinions, while they were partying at Yale or Texas.

Why can't they just be happy trying to avoid paying taxes and ripping off everybody the old fashioned way- by exploiting our labor? Why do they have to kill people to entertain themselves?
