Some 400 Christian community leaders met in San Antonio, Texas, two weeks ago to establish the group, which Christians United officials said represents about 30 million Americans.

The organization's main goal is to create a rapid-response network "targeted to reach every senator and congressman" in the United States. It is led by evangelical leaders Dr. John C. Hagee and George Morrison; fundamentalist Baptist minister Jerry Falwell; and Gary Bauer, president of the American Values organization aimed at protecting marriage, family and faith.

All are renowned supporters of Israel, and considered hawkish. For instance, they will pressure the American government to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem."

Every last one of them. Back when dispensationalism first came onto the scene (1800's) learned theologians of the day called it "the height of speculative nonsense" and "stupid". No wonder it became so popular in America. Unfortunately it's the mainstream end-time view amongst American evangelicals, and advocates for more historic viewpoints like amillenialism and postmillenialism get short shrift in mainstream "Christian" media if they get any mention at all, other than to be called names by the likes of blowhard John Hagee. A Jewish person asked how they could be reassured that the Right supported them, and the response came from a representative of the Southern Baptist Conference who said, in effect, that their support was total, that Jews were God's chosen and thus the evangelical's betters, and that they would always support Israel in anything they did.

I was shocked. Israel will never get that deal from me. I support Israel's left, not their right who IMO, is screwing up the ME and helping to destroy democracy here in America. Separation of church and state was a really good idea.
