Company develops shocking shotgun shell
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=0f3a6aab6203068c

Stun-gun maker Taser International of Scottsdale, Ariz., is developing a shotgun shell that will be far more powerful than current ones, a report said.

Taser's eXtended Range Electro-Muscular Projectile, or XREP, is meant to combine the blunt-force trauma of a fast-moving baseball with the electrical current of a stun gun, the Arizona Daily Sun reported.

It will truly cause incapacitation, said company spokesman Steve Tuttle. The product, expected to be available next year, was funded by the Office of Naval Research.

7. I'm thinking "plexiglas"
Multiplel layers can be glued together to form a rigid and durable surface, and with that you can also insert bolts from between layers to secure straps for carrying. Since it would be clear, it wouldn't give them the excuse "s/he was hiding behind it & I couldn't see what s/he was doing & I felt threatened." Further, if enough layers are glued together, it could provide protection against other projectiles like those wooden blocks that they used to injure those dockworkers out in CA some time back...

4. Why is Bernie smiling?
His stock in Taser just went up.

Hits you hard enough to cause extensive bruising, and shocks the piss out of you as a BONUS.

6. Neato!
Because shooting your friends in the face with buckshot isn't nearly as much fun as shooting them in the face with ELECTRIC buckshot.
