Taoiseach (Irish PM) demands Camp X-ray closure
Edited on Thu Feb-23-06 08:23 AM by lostexpectation
FOREIGN Affairs Minister Dermot Ahern last night called on the US to shut down the controversial Guantanamo Bay prison, writes Geraldine Collins. Mr Ahern said he endorsed the UN Secretary General's view that those held in Guantanamo Bay should either be charged or released, and that the US should close the facility.

1. Oh man, we still have Camp X-ray!
:wtf: It's been like 5 years! How long does it take to charge terrorists with crimes?

IIRC, once those guys are charged, they will go to a US federal prison and be prosecuted in federal courts with lawyers and rights and stuff. Not doing that is accomplishing what exactly?

At least the Dubai ports world deal is making money for corrupt robber barons. What is camp X-ray doing?

2. Erin go braugh...
Hee hee...being Irish, (American-Irish) I especially enjoyed this. Obviously, the Taoiseach is correct, but the Bushies won't listen, so he's wasting his breath.

3. I am waiting for the Taoiseach
to address the torture flights that landed at Shannon.

Not happy with my motherland on that point.
