Arabs fear Iraq sectarian violence spillover-Rice

SHANNON, Ireland, Feb 24 (Reuters) - Arab states fear sectarian violence in Iraq could spill over to their countries, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Friday while flying home from a tour of the Middle East.

Rice blamed al Qaeda for the bombing which ignited Iraqi sectarian violence that has left 200 people dead in Baghdad alone over the past three days. She acknowledged the violence posed a threat to Iraq's political process and took small comfort from the limited achievements of her latest trip.

She suggested that al Qaeda planted the explosives, which on Wednesday blew up an important Shi'ite mosque in the Iraqi town of Samarra and sparked a spate of vicious attacks against clerics, mosques and ordinary people.

"There is a concern that the sectarian tensions that outsiders are stoking in Iraq -- that those same outsiders might try and stoke sectarian tensions in other parts of the region," she said before a refuelling stop in Ireland.

1. Are they hoping for it to spill over?
Does this give them their blank check to invade Syria and Iran?

Are the outsiders she mentions Westerners rather than Al-Quaeda? If the Bush regime had a shred of trustworthiness we wouldn't ask these questions. Sad.

5. Arabs Tell Rice Violence Like Iraq's Could Spread
As violence spread across Iraq during Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit to the Middle East this week, kings, presidents and prime ministers told her that they were concerned that sectarian violence could spread across the Middle East.

"It came up pretty much everywhere," said a senior State Department official traveling with Ms. Rice.

During this trip, Ms. Rice met with leaders of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and the other Persian Gulf states.

One of the senior officials traveling with Ms. Rice said the Arab leaders, in their conversations with her, were particularly concerned that "outsiders could stir up trouble in Lebanon and perhaps the Palestinian territories."

9. Condi Rice is one of the architects of the criminal US invasion of Iraq
like the rest of the Bush cabal, Condi is incapable of ever admitting that she made a mistake. The war in Iraq will bring about the downfall of all of America's puppet despots in the Middle East, and the end of US colonialism in that region.

The question is who will replace the current crop of leaders. Whoever they are, they are bound to be far more dangerous and hostile to Israel than an army of Saddams. How ironic that those that wanted Saddam out to protect Israel, and that now speak of an attack of Iran, have accomplished nothing more than to jeopardize the existence of the very state they were trying to protect.
