Schwarzenegger appeals to disaffected Republicans
Schwarzenegger appeals to disaffected Republicans
Sat Feb 25, 2006 2:20 AM ET

SAN JOSE, California (Reuters) - California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger appealed on Friday to fellow Republicans to rally to his re-election campaign despite concerns they have with his moving to the political center and his expensive public works initiative.
(snip)

Schwarzenegger enters this year's political campaign season in a shaky position. Conservative Republicans in recent months have been disappointed by his moving toward the center, marked by his appointment of a Democrat as his chief of staff.

Democrats distrust him because of his tightfisted budgets, and independents have not forgiven him for his unsuccessful bid last year to overhaul the state government in a special election.

Additionally, analysts say, Schwarzenegger is off to a late start in raising money for his re-election campaign.

5. Don't be fooled by what $120 million can do.
His fundraising objective. He will probably get this sum from his special interests. Gotta fight like hell against this moron.

8. That's kinda scary
considering that, by all reports, he hasn't done anything right since being elected in the first place.

But it IS California. ;)

3. That man stands for nothing.
He's trying to move to the center when he has four political consultants from the White House working on his campaign? Let's also not forget his anti-union, anti-education, anti-choice special election money pit.

The only issues that he cares about are the ones that revolve around him.

10. He's done
That clown can raise all the money he wants from his rich white Orange County fan base, but he's basically pissed off so many people with his "Special Election" bullshit that everyone has had it with him!! Even my repuke uncle is turned off by him!! Taking on the unions was a big mistake. It's funny to think about how popular he was just 2 years ago, how so many people I knew believed the hype and jumped on the bandwagon, I couldn't even believe it when all these fucking repukes were talking about him running 4 President someday!!! HAHAHAHA Those days are over!!! I'm just looking forward to the day when his sorry ass is gone.

13. Governor's office seeks 'autopilot' raise
Governor's office seeks 'autopilot' raise
Schwarzenegger has argued against such increases elsewhere
Greg Lucas, Chronicle Staff Writer

Saturday, February 25, 2006

Sacramento -- Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has repeatedly railed against "autopilot" government spending, wants the budget for his office increased automatically each year.

The Republican governor's spending plan for the fiscal year beginning July 1 proposes automatically boosting the office's $18.4 million budget by nearly $1 million starting in July 2007. The automatic increase would allow the governor's office budget to climb without having to publicly demonstrate need.

A spokesman for the governor argued that the Legislature's request is not autopilot spending, but rather a cap that limits spending. Trial judges and the Legislature both get the annual increase, said Schwarzenegger spokesman Vince Sollitto.

14. yeah well he decided to go to a fund raiser for John Kyle in Arizona
instead of attending the funereal of a chp officer that was murdered on the job Feb 17Th, there is no goodwill left for him now. His press office said--"the Governor had a long standing commitment, he's already given his condolences to the family", this isn't playing well in the papers here.
