China denies EU claims of dumping shoes
http://feeds.bignewsnetwork.com/?sid=61635932f0f01adf

China denies claims by the European Union that it is dumping shoes, and wants the EU to reinvestigate the case.

Chong Quan, a spokesman for the Ministry of Commerce, said Friday there is no evidence of dumping, China Daily reported.

EU Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson has recommended imposing a 4.8 percent tariff on leather shoes from China starting April 1. The tariff could increase to 19.4 percent.

2. I read a BBC article on the dumping investigation. It is BALONEY.
They determined the cost of producing shoes in China by investigating the cost of shoes in Brazil. No consideration for cost of living in China. The EU literally decided China was dumping (selling below cost) because China is selling below the cost IN and FROM BRAZIL, not below the cost IN and FROM CHINA, because the EU does not know what the cost is in and from China.

When I was finished reading that article I was besides myself with outrage. I don't have a link but the link was from a BBC article on the dumping issue and should be findable by anyone interested. Though on this board I expect little interest. The fact China is selling CHEAP shoes is enough.

3. I can't seem to find it.
If you could point me to the article, I would appreciate it.

It reminds me of the US anti-trust lawsuit against the Chinese vitamin C producers.

I'll start a GD thread too, because I'm sick of this issue. I truly am outraged.
