Bush says Dubai ports deal not a security threat (Today 2/28/06)
http://today.reuters.com/investing/financeArticle.aspx?type=bondsNews&storyID=2006-02-28T151647Z_01_WBT004872_RTRIDST_0_SECURITY-PORTS-BUSH-URGENT.XML

WASHINGTON, Feb 28 (Reuters) - President George W. Bush said on Tuesday he stood by his view that a deal to allow a Dubai-based company to run U.S. ports did not pose a security threat.

"My position hasn't changed to my message to the Congress," Bush said. "If there was any doubt in my mind or people in my administration's minds that our ports would be less secure or the American people in danger, this deal wouldn't go forward."

...very short blurb...

This freak of nature cannot reverse a Custer Decision.

1. many want the 'process' looked at--how the decision is arrived at as if
the same process as the 30 day review (the one already done)----then nothing will change--and bush can (and will as he does above)--claim the OUTCOME of the yet to be review.

4. oh ok, we'll ignore these elephants in the room
we'll ignore the possibility of low level managers being bribed and allowing some kind of contraband into the country. or the other smaller 21 ports that do not have the full radiation and chemical inspection processes that the major ports have.

or the access to manifests that would tell terrorists which boatloads of chemical to ram into with a small speedboat full of explosives that can be bought at your local gun show.

8. The higher-ups can also be a problem.
Remember 9/11 whistle-blowers like Colleen Rowley and Sibel Edmonds? Normal people just trying to do their jobs but ignored and hampered by their superiors.

The little people in the bureaucracy aren't always the problem, it's the ones at the top who can over-rule normal procedures, cut a few corners, pull a few strings, fudge the paperwork, turn a blind eye, etc...

10. or maybe it's as simple as BUZZFLASHES headline
are we being bribed into doing the deal? As was suggested in Farenhiet 9/11 and his stupid white people book, are Bush's middle east skeltons forcing him to be bribed on the Dubai port deal???

7. Of COURSE, there's "no doubt". That doesn't mean "no danger",
Edited on Tue Feb-28-06 10:49 AM by WinkyDink
now, does it?
Just that Bush has no doubt.
About our being "in danger".
Get it yet?

14. here's a suggestion
make two extra demands on the UAE emirate's, first agree to end the Arab embargo against Isreal and then publicly announce that they recognize Isreal's right to exist!! that should end the deal!!!
