CIA: Iraq security to get worse
http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/11/11/sprj.irq.cia/index.html

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A recent CIA assessment of Iraq warns the security situation will worsen across the country, not just in Baghdad but in the north and south as well, a senior administration source told CNN Tuesday.

The report is a much more dire and ominous assessment of the situation than has previously been forwarded through official channels, this source said. It was sent to Washington Monday by the CIA station chief in Iraq.

--snip--

A third U.S. official said the intelligence report was from the CIA and that it highlights what the official conceded are several "major ongoing security issues."

That official refused to characterize the report in further detail. But the senior administration source who did discuss the report said it essentially says things are "gonna get worse" across Iraq.

Op-Ed:

I knew something was up. Things just seemed too quiet lately. Here we go......

1. I Suppose The CIA Has Their Own Contacts In The Media
And are bypassing King George after the administration "burned" one of their own to make certain accurate information is getting out that will embarrass Dimbo.

One of the "major ongoing security issues" sits in the Oval Office and can't hold his pretzels.

2. What insight!!! It's gonna get worse,
No shit. There's a real no brainer. Nation's manipulators and dreamers of empire to distract the public from 2000 coup d'etat and rape of the republic, acknowlege that nineteenth century colonialism can't succeed in the 21st Century.

Where do we find minds like this?

The headline should be, rats leaving sinking ship look for life preservers.

4. More CIA blow-back. Sucks, doesn't it, Chimpy?
In the words of Rumsfeld, it's a slog. Pure and simple. A damned slog.

5. Strange........very strange
It is almost as if the part of the CIA that has integrity is looking for a leader. They are doing their job, but have noone to present their info to. Weird as hell. The Press is the only place that their findings can be used in a constructive way: a haphazard attempt to inform the public.

What a royal shithouse mess!

It must be hell being in that "branch" of the CIA now, knowing you are diametrically opposed to Bush's "faith based" foreign policy. I really feel sorry for these people who are doing their jobs and fighting back in the best way they can. They are very courageous people, real heroes.

If an accurate history of what happened in these dark times is ever written there needs to be a chapter on these people who fought back at great risk to themselves, and others who have died trying to get the word out on the corruptions of the empire.

6. Yeah, it's weird. Tenet says nothing, but no one seems to stop
the flow of information anymore. Seems like a good strategy.
