Al-Jazeera cameraman, driver accused of having knowledge of Iraqi blasts
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - Coalition forces in Iraq have detained two Al-Jazeera employees on allegations they had prior knowledge of a car bombing in Baghdad, the editor of the Arab satellite station said Tuesday.

Coalition military officials in Baghdad said they understood some journalists had been detained but had no details.

Al-Jazeera editor Ibrahim Hilal told The Associated Press that U.S. soldiers had detained Iraqi cameraman Samer Hamza and a driver while they were covering an explosion at a police station in western Baghdad that was the site of one of several car bombings Monday that killed some three dozen people and injured more than 200. Another of Monday's bombings hit the Baghdad offices of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

1. No wonder Al Jazeera has been silenced respecting
Operation effing Hammer. They are being black-mailed. The lives of their journalists have probably been threatened. I hate those bastards!

2. What evidence do they have?
I doubt Al-Jazeera would conspire against either forces since they are a reputable news agency. Al-Jazeera is one of the few news sources we can trust and maybe that's why they were detained. Why would Al-Jazeera lie? What have they to gain? Those in the news business are to be trusted and not accused without evidence.

3. You didn't get my point. Al Jazeera is not lying, they are quiet. WHy?
You ask, because they have arrested their journalists, and are accusing them of complicity with the "terrorists." That is what I said. Al Jazeera is being blackmailed, by CPA

4. You missed my point
I support Al Jazeera and their efforts. I'm concerned that Al Jazeera is getting set up here. Sorry for the confusion.

5. your right I did, I thought you said what information do "you" have.
Then my defenses came up and I quickly skimmed the rest of your reply. I really need to get some sleep. I have been here at DU too many hours in the last few days.

I am getting very depressed again.
