(Scott) Peterson visited marina three times
MODESTO, California (CNN) -- Scott Peterson drove three times to the Berkeley Marina, near where the body of his wife and her unborn son would be found in April, and simply stared out at the water, a Modesto police detective testified Thursday.

http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/11/13/peterson.hearing/index.html

OK...is it me or can we all safely conclude that whether or not Scott did it...the man is a complete idiot????

Also...this disturbed me:

Earlier Thursday, Brocchini acknowledged that he did not question three people who said they saw Laci Peterson on December 24, after her husband drove to the marina for a fishing trip.

It bothers me that Police will not bother checking out other leads if they feel they have enough evidence to convict. Remember, the police are looking for the easiest to convict, not the one who did it.

Personally? I think Scott did it in a fit of rage. He told Laci about his affair, she and he had a scuffle and he killed her, dumped the body, etc. I think the man is too stupid to do first-degree homocide.

1. I find it interesting that on the one hand you correctly point out that...
...the police failed to talk to three people who claim to have seen Laci AFTER Scott left for a fishing trip, and then declare Scott guilty in the very next paragraph.

Amazing.

2. One more thing...if he DIDN'T do it, why would he be an idiot for...
...going to the Marina and staring out over the water? Is that supposed to be some sign of guilt? Isn't it entirely possible that he used to go to the Marina and do the very same thing BEFORE Laci turned up missing?

Isn't it safe to assume that if Scott DIDN'T do it, he also WOULDN'T know where the body had been dumped??

One of millions....and one with no more credibility than Sally Mae Jenkins down at the Five and Dime. And I clearly marked it as such.

The police, however, have made a CASE against him. The big difference is that if I offer my opinion, no one gives a rats ass. When the cop does, it means someone is at the very least, going to jail. So the cop has to be much more careful about shooting off his mouth than I do. That's why I am not a cop (thank God!)

What I thought was stupid is that once he was being followed, he tried to shake them off. Way to draw attention to yourself, Scott!

17. The cops make cases against lots of people...
...and DNA testing has taken more than 70 of those cases off of Death Row in several states.

What I think is that Scott was tired (angry, perhaps?) of being followed around so he decided to have a little fun and try to lose them.

By the way, what additional attention could he draw to himself than being the suspect in a murder case?

Hey, JMHO.

3. And I should care about this because...?
Sorry, I didn't mean to appear snippy. I have long since put this case and that basketball player's completely out of my mind.

I wonder what Gary Condit is doing these days?

6. Same here - I noted Faux is covering this ad nauseum
so they don't have to cover AWOL's Grand FUBAR in Iraq. From little I saw of Faux yesterday evening they were hardly covering the Italian and Iraqi's death toll in Iraq.

I saw I think it was Jeff Greenberg do a story about why the cables cover Peterson and Kobe, etc. They get about 100,000 more viewers. So we get this crap cause a 100,000 idiots in this country need to "get a life".

10. You mean nationally?
I have to put up with the latest Laci blow-by-blow every morning when I turn on the local channel to get the weather, but I can sort of understand that. Do you mean to say it's on nationally, like OJ or Kobe? I really thought it was a local obsession.

11. Just like telmarketing and spam ...

The only reason they keep calling (or sending spam), is because it works. There are idiots out that give them what they want, and make it work for them.

Cheers

13. Really you guys, you are being kind of rude. It is a National news
story. If he killed her, I hope he is convicted. Some people are interested. I hadn't heard that before. The poster is just stating his opinion and it is LBN. You don't have to click or comment, if you could care less. Misdirected anger here.

A belated welcome to you absynthnsugar.

14. There are murder trials going on in all fifty states and I bet some
are even more disturbing than this one and while my sympathies go out to the victims I don't think that these types of events are worthy of continuous coverage on national news.

Men and women are dying in Iraq and the NeoCons are trying to force a "new world order" down our throat and yet this trial gets so much coverage.

15. I could give less than a shit about the scott peterson trial...
Most Duers I dare say care more about what it happening to our country and to our soldiers and the people of Iraq among other things.
If I want to know what is happening in distracting stories like this I could tune into faux/msrnc/cnn to name a few.
