80% of kids don't wanna be Prez

Wanna be President? American kids are saying, "Thanks, but no thanks."

A new online poll conducted by Scholastic magazine says more than 80% of kids don't want to be the leader of the most powerful nation on Earth.

Amazingly, that's a nearly total flip from 2004, when 75% of the elementary and middle school children did want to rule the roost from the White House.

"It would be a very difficult job to run a whole country," said Veronica, a poll participant from Ohio. "You would be under a lot of pressure and lots of people would be counting on you for answers."

4. Like 80% would ever have a SHOT at becoming Pretzeldunce?
Oh, wait a minute, they said "most Powerful nation on Earth"...

Wouldn't that be Saudi Arabia or China?

6. After Lancelot Link, "President" has the same appeal as . .
animal shit sweeper.

He's soiled that office for life. It's going to take about a month of fumigation to get the Satanic stench out of the Blight House in 2009.

7. I never wanted that job either
Too much responsibility, too much accountability, too much exposure, too little privacy, and too little pay.

Oh, and statistically it's one of the most hazardous positions in the nation.

8. What scares me....
... is the 20% who would like to be president.

While he was growing up, Rove just knew he wanted to be the power behind the throne. Other kids wanted to be firefighters or cowboys, but Carl and others like him wanted to be politicians.

Bush thinks god wanted him to run.

Imagine the creepy little power-loving fucks in that 20% that will comprise US politics in the last half of this century.

13. They won't get the chance. I predict the presidency will soon be abolished
I don't know by what means, but I think when the reform movement sets in, that they will do away with the combined Head of State/Head of Government role.

Head of Government should go to the Speaker of the House in Congress, similar to the Prime Minister in other Western Democracies under the Parliamentary form of government.

The Presidency itself should just be an ambassadorial/ceremonial role, with no real power associated with it, very similar to the French Presidency.

If you were a child, would YOU want to be the person you hear adults at home calling an a-hole or idiot?
