Giuliani: World economy can survive another Sept. 11-like attack
April 12, 2006

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) _ Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani said Wednesday that another Sept. 11-like terror attack would be disastrous, but that he was confident the world economy could withstand it.

"New York survived Sept. 11, America survived Sept. 11, the world did," Giuliani told reporters. "It's not something that you hope happens, but if it did I would think America, New York, the world economy would survive that also. We're much stronger than we think we are."

Giuliani made the comments on the sidelines of an international financial conference he attended in South Korea's capital sponsored by the Financial Times newspaper.

An assault such as the one on Sept. 11, 2001, "would be catastrophic" if it were to happen again, he said. "Just given the fact that you learn from prior things that happen, it probably would be handled better, if you can handle something like that better. The impact of it is just beyond anyone."

2. We're much more vulnerable than we think we are...
...and our political and military failure in Iraq demonstrates to the world that we are not as strong as we think we are.

These maniacs have no idea how to strengthen ourselves for the challenges we face today.

8. And this glorified ward-heelers' expertise in matters of finance
are what, exactly?
What studies did he put forward to substantiate such a claim?
What credentials does he have pertaining to international finance and the effect global terror has on it?
Is he now an expert on terrorism? He didn't seem to have a clue about it even after his city was attacked previously to 9/11.
Could he publish his extensive research on this subject?
Can Rudy even balance his checkbook without using a calculator, let alone lecture on the world economy?
Does this clueless politico even know that not too many people even care what he says about anything?

9. Giuliani to 9/11 is like Dick Morris to HIllary Clinton ...
they believe they know everything about the subject and are the authority about them.

And faux news whores them as experts.

I think that's exactly what he's up to--stealth presidential posturing. Unfortunately for him, he has nothing to run on but 9/11 sympathy. As for his fiscal expertise, he had planned to hold on to 9/11 donations made to the city until March, which happens to be the end of a banking quarter. Was he planning to divert the funds or skim the interest? Only the resulting public outcry made him change his mind.

31. Remember the GOP convention?
It was just one major exploitation of 9/11.

NYC is smart, but unfortunately much of the nation doesn't get it (well they are closer to figuring it out now).

My favorite is when you mention how Iraq has been a catostrophic mess, they ask, "But what about 9/11".

If a Dem had been in power they would have been crucified. I think even Pat Buchanan admitted, Gore wouldn't have had it as easy.

He's since jumped on the band wagon and hopefully he'll fall off. Best just ignore him.
