British Convoy Attacked in Afghanistan
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - A suicide car bomber rammed a British military convoy in southern Afghanistan on Friday, police said.

It was unclear if there were casualties. British troops cordoned off the scene, and British military officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

A man driving a station wagon rigged to explode struck the convoy in the Helmand provincial capital of Lashkar Gar at about 10:30 a.m., said the province's police chief, Gen. Abdul Rahman Saber.

1. Did the car explode I wonder? Or did he just "ram" the convoy and
nothing happened?

UK soldiers hurt in Afghanistan

The MoD were unable to confirm precise details of the incident
Two British soldiers in Afghanistan have suffered minor injuries, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has said.
A spokeswoman said the pair, and a local person, were hurt in an incident in the south of the country.

She confirmed that it happened in Lashka Gar, but the MoD could not confirm reports that a suicide car bomber drove into a military convoy.

3. Back to the days Russia tried to force it's will!
It was the 17th attempted suicide attack on Nato forces since the beginning of the year, but, if confirmed, the first on British soldiers.

Taleban militants have recently stepped up suicide bombings against coalition forces, particularly in the south.

Friday's blast also comes a week after UK troops escaped another attack near the Lashka Gar base.

BBC Defence Correspondent Paul Wood said there were fears the attack could stop British troops conducting foot patrols.

However, he said that he had spoken to an officer serving in Afghanistan who had made it clear that "their commitment to getting out and meeting people has not been affected by this incident".

On Tuesday, three British soldiers were injured in an explosion, in southern Afghanistan.
