Casey (Santorum opponent)raises $2.2 million in first three months of 2006
The Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- A half-year before the November election, state Treasurer Bob Casey has raised more money in his quest to unseat Sen. Rick Santorum than the last Democrat who tried to do so.

Casey, a Democrat, has raised more than $8 million and ended the quarter with $4.5 million cash on hand, according to paperwork released Thursday by his campaign that is to be filed with the Federal Election Commission.

In the first three months of the year, he raised $2.2 million, his campaign said.

Santorum's campaign did not release his fundraising numbers on Thursday. Candidates must report quarterly totals to the commission by Saturday. Santorum, the No. 3 Senate Republican, ended 2005 with $7.8 million in cash on hand, while Casey had $3.4 million.

1. If Santorum is wondering why there are footprints running up his back...
...and down his chest, it was from Casey running him over.

3. It SHOULD be a great D win, a real no-brainer
In a world without swiftboating and vapor voting, Santorum could just as well start packing and go home now. Just means Casey is going to have to work harder to win.

4. (keeping my fingers crossed)
I think you're right! Let's hope so. Also, Sanitarium's numbers are way down.

I think he's just goo way too much notoriety at this point. The whole Republican machine is sinking into the quicksand.
