Busy McCain expresses views on Rumsfeld, immigration, Iraq war
Sen. John McCain joined the ranks of retired generals who have said they have no confidence in Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

Or more precisely, the generals are falling in line with McCain's long-standing assessment, McCain said Friday.

"I was asked a long time ago, I think a year and a half or two years ago, if I had confidence in S ecretary Rumsfeld. I was asked that directly. I said, 'No,' " the Republican senator said during a news conference at his Phoenix office.

"But the president has the right and earned the right as the president of the United States to appoint his team -- and he has confidence in Secretary Rumsfeld.

2. I don't know if it was 2 years ago or not, but I do specifically...
...remember McCain saying, after the Humvee armor brouhaha that Rumsfeld has obviously lost the ability
to lead the military, or something to that effect.

3. Mc Cain is the manchurian candidate....
I wrote him and called him on his betrayal of middle class and democracy and I told him he was a traitorous, manchurian candidate.

He believes outsourcing, illegal immigration amnesty and in-sourcing is good for america. He had the nerve to put it in writing.

For the record arizona is praying to get rid of him.

Nevada needs porter and quinn gone.

Then according to the Miami Herald they are trying to get rid of Jeb bush.

Any body know anything about the democracy rising march april 29.

8. That first sentence gives the impression
that McCain is a retired general. Why can't people who profess to write for a living express themselves correctly? Gah!

Anyhow, McCain said quite a while ago that Rumsfeld should step down, but his position is only half right. Rumsfeld should be fired, as Wes Clark has said innumerable times.

9. Now Wes Clark is a real General

He has been right on this issue and many issues.

"Rumsfeld should be fired, as Wes Clark has said innumerable times."

Go Clark!

14. I don't believe it! If he would have said anything negative about
Rumsfeld the press would of been all over it.

Senator Kerry actually did call for Runsfeld to resign back in 2003.He has continued to do so or a fairly regular basis.

16. I agree - 2 1/2 years ago was before the 2004 election
I seriously doubt McCain said anything that early. He did speak out on Rumsfeld in Dec 2004 - which is 1 1/2 years ago. (It's hard to prove a negative though.

I remember that Kerry was the first to call for Rumsfeld to go and Dean followed the next day - this was I think in Dec 2003 when Abu Ghraib first came out - I think the two of them were pretty much alone in this call. McCain didn't speak out - maybe he mistakes his actions on this with the far more honorable Senator from Massachusetts.

15. Why does anyone care what McCain says? He's Bu*h's boy.
Scores of Democrats have been saying this for years, and what we DUers have been saying since Rumsfeld was first appointed war chancellor for the Reich.

Just say "no" to John McCain. The last thing we need is a Bu*h crime family lackey in the WH.

23. Rumsfeld should be indicted for crimes.
Rumsfailed Admitted to Violating Geneva Convention

I personaly heard Rumsfailed admit in public on TV that when CIA Director Tenet requested that an Iraqi prisoner be sent to a secret Afghan/US Prison that Rumsfailed did so. After four months a DOD Attorney stated that this was an illegal act. Rumsfailed then ordered that this prisoner be sent back to Abu Graihib but the prisoner was purposefully not listed at that location, also an illegal act. Rumsfeld also admitted to signing orders for tougher interogation methods which violated the Geneva Conventions.

Rumfailed has commited at least three violations of the Geneva Convention thereby also violations of The Constitution of the USA. Recently it has been found out that even more detainees were "ghost detainees". The fact that Rumsfailed and Tenet have not been charged speaks volumes. If Congress wishes to garner any respect they should move forward with Rep. Rangle's Impeachment Declaration of Rumsfailed and also prosecute Ex. CIA Tenet.

The US, Govt., Congress, and the Justice Dept no longer abide by the Geneva Convention or the Constitution of the USA.
