Bush won't rule out nuclear strike on Iran
Edited on Tue Apr-18-06 11:03 AM by IChing
(Reuters) - President Bush refused on Tuesday to rule out nuclear strikes against Iran if diplomacy fails to curb the Islamic Republic's atomic ambitions.

Iran, which says its nuclear programme is purely peaceful, told world powers it would pursue atomic technology, whatever they decide at a meeting in Moscow later in the day.

Bush said in Washington he would discuss Iran's nuclear activities with China's President Hu Jintao this week and avoided ruling out nuclear retaliation if diplomatic efforts fail.

Asked if options included planning for a nuclear strike, Bush replied: "All options are on the table. We want to solve this issue diplomatically and we're working hard to do so.">>>>.snip

20. Correct! . . . and that means everyone who supports him
and refuses to get him the hell out of that office is also bat shit crazy!!

And what can we do?

We protested by the millions before that son of a bitch invaded Iraq -- we were ignored.

We voted AGAINST him -- and his buddies owned the machines that count the vote and so he was allowed to remain in the white house.

Even to say such a thing makes it so obvious that he and his gang are not to be trusted with anything.

I don't think we will be able to get the stench of that gang of thugs out of the white house in our life times. (if in the rare event that a democrat -- even a DINO wins in 2008)

His supporters are in deep denial.

In Iraq he is committing murder a thousand times over -- and if he drop even one bomb on Iran -- because they maybe might someday produce enough material for a bomb -- he will kill millions from the fall out alone and from the cascading effects of violence.

If Iran is nuked I predict that it will be open season on Americans -- it doesn't matter who we might be or who we voted for.

The US troops on the ground in Iraq and Afghanistan and other M.E. countries will be at extreme risk.

For bush even to affirm that Nukes are under consideration puts the troops at risk.

Bush is a complete and utter waste as a human -- he is the personification of the bad seed -- generations of bad seeds.

He must be brought to a court of International Law -- and be tried and judged and a punishment fitting his crimes be handed out by the jury. What he is doing has gone past the ability of the US to deal with -- the whole world must be involved. He wanted to be a world leader -- now let the world judge him.

38. Save a print-out of a voter registration list BEFORE we attack Iran
We will want to know who we have to blame in the days of chaos after Martial Law is declared at home.

If you see a car with a "Bush" sticker parked in a driveway, write down the address.

In a worst case scenario, those should be the houses we loot for food first-- if they're still standing after The Apocalypse.

22. Sadly,
There are probably quite a few who support such lunacy. Lieberman promptly comes to mind along with a whole passel of vile Republicans. At any rate, Congress long ago happily handed the decision making for such things to the criminally insane occupants of the White House.

15. We will likely nuke Iran. It's the most efficient option
A good nuking will eliminate the need for ground forces completely.

We need to chat with the Chinese first, they have a dog in this fight, and a hell of a lot of soldiers. You don't want to piss off the Chinese too badly. They'll come around, their economy is intimately intertwined with ours, it's just a matter of what we'll put in to sweeten the pot. Stock up is right, if you can.

Did you notice, we have moved from "wild speculation" to "no comment".

43. There is no such thing as a good nuking.
Other countries have far more reason to nuke America than America has to nuke Iran.

Posts like yours make me think this would be the best thing for the rest of the world.

Don't laugh, Sinti, Americans often underestimate the power other countries have. It could happen, it could be your family who fries.

If you don't like that notion, it could be an idea to back off with the "good nuking" talk that leads the rest of the world to regard Americans as insane and dangerous monsters who need eliminating.

Is it mental abuse if I terrorize my students with facts? I try to be objective, but * isn't making it easy.

19. Facts don't bother me -- it's finding the balanced
interpretation of the facts that is difficult; particularly when I feel very strongly one way or another.

It's not a question of being careful because I don't want to upset the students, or because I fear the history "brown shirts." It's because I believe it is important to be as objective as it is possible to be, knowing that all history is interpretive and revisionist (otherwise, I'd be out of a job!). I have great freedom to teach what I believe, as a "pointy-headed liberal, leftist, college academic" -- I also have a responsibility to teach well.

Sometime's it's tiring -- I just want to stand up there and say "listen up, folks. The world is going to hell in a hand-basket and * is leading the merry band of fools taking it there."

42. Could a military coup be in our future?
For me personally with the way he is talking I hope so. This must not be allowed to happen. Where will it end? The military more than likely will be divided. It's going to take some people with a lot of balls. If use is emanate the president must be arrested and the orders withdrawn. After the president is arrested it's up to the people. To prevent the president from regaining power the people are going to have put themselves in some dangerous situations. We are going to have to act like the people of the Philippines when Marcos was deposed. Take to the streets. If the president is in the white house under house arrest people need to flood the white house grounds and Pennsylvania Avenue. The forces on Bush's side will be forced to make a choice if they want to kill their own people. If they have a conscious they will understand they will only be killing people they are sworn to protect and stand down. Everyone needs understand in their hearts and in their minds this is still government by the people for the people. It is our right to act because George W. Bush only governs by our consent. If he is going to take it upon himself to act in a manner with complete disregard of our consent and well being he needs to be removed from power.
