http://www.baynews9.com/content/36/2006/4/20/154765.htmlFederal immigration authorities arrested 38 alleged illegal immigrants at the IFCO Systems plant just south of Bartow Wednesday.
The raid in Homeland, Fla., was just one more than two dozen immigration raids at IFCO Systems plants across the country.
Nationwide, more than 1,200 IFCO laborers and seven current or former managers were arrested. The criminal complaint charges the seven managers with conspiracy to transport, harbor, and employ illegal immigrants for private gain.
Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff said the company has been employing illegal immigrants with phony documentation.
