Contractor picked up ($2800) dinner tab for Harris. lol, poor Katherine
Edited on Fri Apr-21-06 09:21 AM by RedEarth
A defense contractor seeking help from Rep. Katherine Harris for $10 million in federal money last year took her to one of Washington's most exclusive restaurants, where he paid for a meal that may have cost as much as $2,800 and offered to sponsor a campaign fundraiser for her.

Mitchell Wade, who pleaded guilty this year to bribing a California congressman, spent $2,800 on wine and food, said Ed Rollins, former chief political strategist for Harris in her campaign for the U.S. Senate.

In an interview with the Orlando Sentinel this week, Harris R-Longboat Key, said it was "news to me" that the total bill had been that expensive.

.........

In her interview Wednesday, Harris acknowledged for the first time that Wade had paid for the dinner at Citronelle, reversing a statement from her congressional spokeswoman earlier this year. But in the interview, Harris also said her campaign had, at some point, "reimbursed" the restaurant.

When asked how she could have reimbursed a business that was owed no money -- Wade paid the bill that evening -- she abruptly ended the interview and walked off. Her spokesman called back an hour later and asked a reporter not to publish anything Harris had said Wednesday night about the dinner.

...that's a lot of McNuggets and Shamrock Shakes!

I assume she eats loads of fast-food meals. It's the only plausible explanation for that nasty complexion of hers.

5. OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!! that second picture
You have the Hartz squeaky hamburger. We have to keep at least 5 on hand at all times. It's the only thing that gets my dog's attention when he goes tearing off across the yard or when he wants to play. We keep 3 extras at all times in case the current one wears out.

It just struck me funny that someone else has a hamburger too. :)

7. Reading the whole article is a great laugh
it is just too funny the blatent lies that she is telling. And as soon as she gets a question from someone that shows it, she walks off and has her 'people' call and say not to publish any of her lies. Too Funny.

I always tell the little ones to never be happy about someone else's suffering... but this tiny part of me is overjoyed that she is having to deal with all this shit!!!!! and it must be wrecking her!!!!

14. And I believe that's why the Repubs want her
out.

There was a commentator on the Al Franken show. He said that K. Harris was corrupt, but she was incompetent in her corruption. I think there were some papers that needed to be filed for some crony friend. I think it was a juicy insider contract.

She missed the deadline, so the crony deal fell through.

Nothing fails like incompetence, right Katherine?

I've worked at 5 star restaurants before, and I've never seen a dinner tab get beyond $700 for two people, and that was only if they order the finest wines or champagne's on the menu. I sure would like to see that bill.

15. He's going to jail! He gets sentenced in Aug
Mitchell Wade, President of the defense contracting firm MZM, Inc., pled guilty on February 24th, 2006 to one count of conspiring both to bribe Congressman Randall "Duke" Cunningham and to tax evasion; one count of Use of Interstate Facilities to Promote Bribery; one count of conspiring to deprive the Defense Department of the honest services of its employees; and one count of election fraud. A Status Conference is scheduled for August 21st.

In addition to bribing Cunningham in exchange for help procuring defense contracts, Wade also provided "illegal benefits to Defense Department officials," and attempted "to curry favor with two other members of Congress by making illegal campaign contributions."

He faces up to 11 years and 3 months incarceration.

19. Here's a link to Global Dominion Ministries .... sounds very, very strange
Bishop Lewis and his wife Pastor Sandra Jones are the founders of Global Dominion Impact Ministries inc. This is a ministry that crosses all denominational boundaries and geographical borders. At the age of fifteen, after an extended period of fasting, Bishop Jones had a divine encounter with the Lord. During this time, the Shekinah glory of God came upon him and the fire of God began to burn on him for three days. He was given a heavenly vision to go and preach the gospel to the nations of the world.

Pastor Sandra has an inspiring testimony of her deliverance from being sold to devils as an infant. She also shares her miraculous healing from her breast cancer as well as being raised from the dead. When she ministers, the spirit of the Lord gives her great boldness to declare to the captives in Jesus name. Bishop and Pastor Sandra’s deep love for the body of Christ is evident as they proclaim to the church that a new wave of God’s spirit is coming in the realms of miracles, healings and deliverances. They boldly proclaim that the coming end-time revival will eclipse any revival yet seen in the church history. Their desire is to be on the cutting edge and in the main stream of what God is doing and saying to the nations.

Bishop Lewis and Pastor Sandra have been married for twenty nine years and have four children: Louis twelve, Sharon thirteen, Sharlene twenty three, Sharmaine 30 and Garma age 30. They are family focused and minister as a team. They are currently pastoring a new work called, Dominion Impact Center in Jacksonville that will become the international hub for the ministry and resource center. They have pioneered and pastored other churches, having ministered in the Caribbean, Central and South America, North America, Europe and Africa.

As they travel to the nations, they conduct apostolic conferences designed to strengthen and encourage the local pastors. Then through the combined effort with the local ministers, they set up city wide Crusades where the Gospel is preached with power and the local churches is strengthened. The Lord has been blessing the Crusades with great demonstrations of the Holy Spirit resulting in salvations, healings, notable miracles and supernatural deliverances from demonic possessions.

Bishop Jones also ministers under heavy prophetic mantle in which the word of knowledge and the Spirit of Revelation flow freely. Bishop Jones a Bishop by the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa on the 5th of February, 1995 in Georgetown Guyana. Bishop Jones is a member of the College of Bishops of the International Commission of Charismatic Churches (ICCC). The Lord continues to open new doors to the nations by granting Bishop and Sandra favor with God and man through governmental officials and national dignitaries.

22. Harris takes responsibility for not paying for pricey dinner
Apr 21, 2006

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris took responsibility Friday for her campaign not reimbursing her share of a meal with a disgraced defense contractor at an exclusive Washington restaurant that reportedly cost $2,800.

The report was the latest trouble in the Republican's campaign to unseat Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson. The woman best known for her role in the 2000 presidential recount is trailing far behind Nelson in polls.

In a statement, Harris said that she gave a charity $100, "which will more than adequately compensate for the cost of my beverage and appetizers" from the meal with Mitchell Wade. He has pleaded guilty to bribing former U.S. Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, R-Calif., who was sent to prison earlier this month for bribery.

Ed Rollins, Harris' former chief political strategist in her Senate campaign, told the Orlando Sentinel that he found out that the meal cost $2,800, although he said he didn't see a bill and wasn't at the restaurant, Citronelle. He confirmed that account to The Associated Press on Friday.

31. You can blow $1500 on a couple of bottles of fine vintage wine, alone
Add a few courses of tall food artistically arranged on a plate by a chef who is full of himself and has a few reviews in The New Yorker to his name and the price goes up again.

You'd be amazed at what the fine dining experience in upscale restaurants in chichi resorts and big cities will set the average plutocrat back.

No, I don't have that kind of money. I've just known a few of those full of themselves chefs.
