Cuban-American says US backed his plan to raid Cuba

Miami.– The US government secretly supplied weapons for an attempt to overthrow Cuban President Fidel Castro, which were seized from the home of a Cuban-American arrested for illegal arms sales, the man told a newspaper in an interview.

Robert Ferro was arrested last week for illegal arms sales. Police say he had 1,571 firearms and some hand grenades in secret compartments and hidden rooms in his estate, the report says.

"In an interview (in jail) with The Los Angeles Times, Thursday, Ferro, 61, contended that some of the high-powered weapons, 'including assault rifles, silencer-equipped handguns and Uzis,' were supplied to him by the US government.

He said the weapons were supposed to be used in an attempt to oust Castro that would have coincided with US navy operations being conducted in the Caribbean Sea," the report said.

4. This administration is totally insane. What is there obsession..
with Cuba? Cuba is not a threat to us or anyone else. The maniacs in the White House want to control the world. It will be our downfall.

6. Caution about believing these Alpha66 members. Plus
Caution about believing our administration equals - don't believe anything.

Wait and see.

Distortion, justification, and bravado reigns with these commandos.

In the meantime, ask yourself if you think that even this administration would auathorize weapons storage in this guy's home rather than in their own little secret hiding spaces (for handing out when their time is right)

13. So where did Ferro get the C4 explosives?
This story is very similar to the Santiago Alverez bust in Broward County last year. He had a similar weapons cache that they found in his condo and Alverez also had C4 explosives. The judge in Alverez's case said their was enough weapons and explosives that they could have caused a major bloodbath. Alverez's response was that he didn't intend to use these weapons in the US. Gee, how nice.

10. The obsession with Cuba goes back to Poppy Bush's....
...involvement as part of the CIA's failed operation to remove Castro from power back in the 1960s before Vietnam kicked into high gear.

Cuba and Castro is considered to be unfinished business as far as the NeoCons are concerned.

14. The NeoCons never really wanted to get rid of Castro
or they would have gotten rid of him decades ago. It's been much more beneficial to them to maintain their enemy and keep the Cubans on a string with hopes of glory that never happen.

In the meantime, all the old Bay of Pig guys that are still alive, still have wetdreams of getting rid of Castro and BushCO is more then happy to help them out with providing 'support'. Got to make sure the Cubans keep voting Republican.

17. More than just the old guys hate Castro. Taka a look at Ileana and

the other Cuban-Americans in the House of Representataives. The only Cuban-Americans in the U.S. who don't hate him are some of the younger ones and a small minority of older ones. It has become a 46 year old hate that has had, at its extreme, hostage taking of our government and a waste of your tax money.

The laws on the books that favor Cuban refugess or every other refugee group have only been improved and enhanced over the years, including under Pres. Clinton. The money that is spent and the money earned on this nearly a half century hate is unbelievable - from Radio and TV Marti to all the other industries. The money that you paid in taxes that ended up in the pockets of Senators and COngresspeople in money laundering circles is apalling.

While a trade embargo has held this country back while every other country has ignored the embargo is a laugh. Cuban-Americans have sent billions and billions of dollars made in the U.S. to their relatives in Cuba (now more restricted because all of a sudden. one day, Ileana and the others decided that that money is going to Castro himself - a decision made after years of sending the money).

No, it's not just the old commandos that have det and dry dreams.

I always understood that the agreement involving the missile threat under Kennedy required the U.S. to not invade or not kill Castro or both. The commandos and the CIA have always held other dreams.

Great people. Horrible politics. Politics that have cost us money, but made plenty of money for a few of them. Hating Castro is anindustry.

Alpha 66 says California man not member of group
BY OSCAR CORRAL
Robert Ferro, 61, was arrested after authorities raided his Upland home Friday in Southern California and found more than 1,000 weapons, including assault rifles, machine guns and live grenades, according to The Associated Press. Authorities believe Ferro was running a black market ring out of his home.

Another search of the house Wednesday turned up more firearms as well as live hand grenades. Authorities had come to the house investigating a man accused of shooting his wife and a Glendora police officer.

Ferro, a retired Army Special Forces officer, had previously been accused of running a paramilitary camp on a Pomona chicken ranch to train Mexican nationals to overthrow Cuban leader Castro. Authorities found 5 pounds of C-4 explosive at the ranch, and he was convicted of possessing illegal explosives in 1992 and sentenced to two years in prison.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Group Denies Tie to Weapons
Cuban exiles say Robert Ferro, jailed after hundreds of guns were found at his Upland home, wasn't a member of their organization.

Rozenberg said outside court that Ferro possessed government-issued weapons and said that how he acquired them "may come to light as this case develops."

On Thursday, law enforcement officials found a rocket launcher and a silencer-equipped rifle at Ferro's home.

Ferro is scheduled to be arraigned May 10 in Riverside, and U.S. officials said there was a strong possibility that he would face an additional charge of harboring a fugitive.

11. Alpha 66 is using a time-honered practice of denying any...
...knowledge of a member if they get caught.

Gee...I wonder if they learned that from the people that trained them?

19. this one is too weird...
61 yrs old...and ex-special forces...he's probably old enough to have had acquaintance with the bay of pigs...and Watergate. I once read somthing about 'blow-back' concerning those people trained by the CIA to overthrow whatever government...it said the unexpected consequence was that once you train these guys, you can't turn them off.

20. Poppy Bush was involved in plot to invade Cuba

"Bush was working with the now-famous CIA agent, Felix Rodriguez, recruiting right-wing Cuban exiles for the invasion of Cuba. It was Bush's CIA job to organize the Cuban community in Miami for the invasion.... A newly discovered FBI document reveals that George Bush was directly involved in the 1963 murder of President John Kennedy. The document places marksmen by the CIA. Bush at that time lived in Texas. Hopping from Houston to Miami weekly, Bush spent 1960 and '61 recruiting Cubans in Miami for the invasion....

21. Isn't it amazing the elder Bush claims he wasn't connected to the CIA
until 1976, when it's common knowledge he even gave two boats to the invasion, naming them after his oil company, and his wife?

They apparently feel they'll never have to answer for their lies.
